*Note there is a special way to ground the sensor. Make sure that you do it at the top, not the top of the sensor. (Make sure the other connection running to the gauge is not touched. )
If you do that, it will work fine. They tell you to ground, but it's not as I observed I had to devote a lot of time to trial and error before I could make the connection.
In February 2017, I installed the gauge in my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) along with the sensor placed in the transmission pan. It does exactly what it should. There is a slight problem when checking the gauge from the driver's seat since the top cannot quite be seen from there, but since 180 degrees is straight up, that is ok with me. After installing the cooler, the temperature dropped by 20 degrees.
My goal was to find a gauge that would blend in with my OEM gages, that had dimmable lights, and came from a reliable manufacturer. The gauge did not work correctly for me due to the impedance mismatch between the ground wire and the body of the gaiter. There may be an error on my part. The threads were sealed with sealer.
It should be made more obvious that the sensor needs to be grounded back to the battery, but I was able to fix it once I called the company.
