This is not the case. The 18 gauge wire you need for your application is 18 gauge. There is no gauge in this meter, just the sending unit with 1/8 npt threads, a few adapters for larger holes, and a light. I'm Jeff
In the one I have, it is not an LED, but a standard small bulb
As long as you have a working microphone, you should be fine. There will be just a small difference between the pan temperature and the actual temperature.

It does what it says and it looks great while it does.
This gauge is simple to set up and to hook up, it is wired in the right way, it has an optional 'red' and 'green' cover for changing the indicator color as well as adapters for changing the gauge.
To measure the temperature of the transmission, I installed this gauge. I like the way that it works and that it seems to be fairly I found it to be a good buy at the stated price. The directions were clear and the installation process was easy.
When this meter is cold-started overnight, it reads 150 degrees, which makes it impossible to take an accurate reading.
The package came with everything it said it would, and it was easy to install. However I haven't had a chance to really test it.
There is nothing to worry about.
