This Dajiban will never be raced by me. A shift light isn't something I'll ever need. For the same effect, I could have taped a flashlight to the side of the tach, but it's just for show. Having said that, I did set it to 3000 rpm once and then revved the motor up to and beyond that, and the light worked flawlessly. It appears to be a good value for money light. The mount is my only nitpicky quibble. Because of the angles, I couldn't figure out how to get screws through the base and into the dash. But aside from that, it's fantastic.
This light has been connected to two separate engines. The first was a Volkswagen air-conditioning vehicle. With a distributorless setup, this 1776cc engine is kept cool. The adapter, which allowed me to connect the tach, cost around $50. It didn't work out. That engine blew up, so I'm back to driving a Ford 2. 3 installed from a '78 pinto, single coil setup There isn't even a glimmer of hope that I'm going to be able to work It's a shame, because I have three glowshift gauges that all work perfectly, but I can't say the same for the shift light, which has never worked since I purchased it.
This is what I installed in my 2004 Jetta. I'm glad I did. br>The black tube, perched on the dash, has a decidedly sinister appearance that I like. br>I can't speak to the ease of installation because I had it done by a garage. br>However, I did mount the device myself before having it installed to ensure that it was exactly where I wanted it. I simply used velcro to hold everything together. It performs admirably. br>The light works flawlessly, flashing at the RPM setting you choose with the dial on the tube's back. The light from the flash is intense. Even in bright sunlight, it's simple to see. br>Nice that the light will stay on until you shift. br>I'd like to see a switch that allows you to turn it off. It would be nice if there was an adjustable beep to accompany the flash of light as an audible alert if your eyes were diverted. br>But it is what it is. That'll do it for me, a sharp-looking form. Exceptional performance.
It is simple to set up and use. However, it is a bit large.
The light is dim and the quality is poor.
Everything goes according to plan.
It reacts much faster than their tach/shift light combo thing (which you should avoid). The mount is loose (where it hooks to the light's body), so it only gets four stars. I'm unable to make it tighter. GlowShift's style is chinsey, which is to be expected. But, hey, as long as the light keeps working, it's all good!.
It performs admirably and is sufficiently bright for use during the day. I wish the angle up and down on the base could be adjusted. But at this price, I can't say no.
