Can these be used in the auto hvac controller for the 2004 Tahoe?

I am unsure. The hvac lights should be soldered in if they are.

Would it be possible to get alternatives that are not so ?

It is not possible for them to be dimmed.

There is a 1 for each of these. Can we hold on to a 5ish resistance level? Are you saying that it already has a load resistor onboard? If so, not needing load resistors then?

Then, I soldered them into the dash of my truck and made sure the polarity was correct before plugging the cluster back into my truck. A few didn't light up, so I had to reverse the wiring. didn't have to add any load resistors to the circuit.

The long lead is positive

I ordered them to replace some burned out dash lights on my Silverado truck.
On the bulbs I received, I first determined that the long lead of the bulb was the positive side.
Every bulb I received worked fine. The one bulb that failed to work was a result of me trying to bend the wire to fit it where I wanted it. A person needs to remember that these links need to be made correctly. When they are wired backward, they won't operate. The lights are very bright, although they do dim on my truck, so we'll see if that becomes an issue.

They gave me the correct light when I replaced the incandescent bulbs in my Bonneville dash. As soon as I mapped out the positives and negatives on the circuit board, it was just a matter of soldering them in. After a year, I did experience a few failures that were likely the result of overheating This time around I have purchased replacement components and will use solder paste to prevent the LED's from being damaged, as most of the SMD style are soldered using this technique (low temperature). As they have a strong, wide throw of illumination, they work well in places where focused LEDs cannot. Also, since they are 12v compatible, they make installation easy and provide a lot of flexibility in projects where power is not easily controlled with resistors ( like my instrument cluster).

The LEDs on the project are excellent

Ideally matched with my 2019 Toyota RAV4 footwell lighting, this color (light blue) is perfect. It was much brighter than I expected, so I may need to add a diffusing lens or add an extra resistor in series if it becomes too bright for the lighting in the cubby. If everything is as it should be, it should work Though it is only for the glove compartment lighting.

In a series circuit, this won't work

Although I have installed them in my 2007 silverado classic instrument cluster, they do not work in the air conditioning controls due to the fact that two of the bulbs are connected By following these steps, you defeat the purpose of powering the second led because the voltage drops by 5 volts.
