Look at the image. Vacuum pump was used to test the installation in the distribution center. I was unable to move the advance. It would move if you loosen the screws. I disassembled the distributor and removed the advance. The slot for the advance pull is punched out during the manufacturing process. If you look closely at the photo, you can see a sliver of metal that was not removed. The tang of metal would bind on the pull arm when I screwed it down. Things went back to normal after I filed the tang off.
