Yes, it's the original reusable gasket from the manufacturer.
Sorry to hear that, but we've sent out a lot of them and have yet to receive a complaint. We'll begin padding it with more material.

Dakota 4x4 5, 1998 The transmission is a 44RE and the engine is a 2L. My truck's transmission uses the thin FT1039 ATF filter, so I believe it's a '97 transmission. The fit guide on Amazon says this gasket won't fit my transmission, but after some research and comparing the picture to an extra cork gasket, I was able to determine that it would, and it does. br>br>It's only been on for a few days and there haven't been any leaks yet, but the old cork gasket would do the same thing. Time will tell with this one, but my initial impressions are that it is far superior to the cork and rubber gaskets I've tried in the past, and it is also reusable. When installing the pan, make sure the 14 bolts are only torqued to 13 ft/lb. br>br>The Dorman 265- br>br>The Dorman 265- br>The Dorman 265- If you're looking for a transmission pan with a drain plug, the 839 is a great option. Despite the fact that it is deeper than my stock pan, it still fits a- It went without a hitch, and all I had to do was add another quart or so of ATF.
This is a no-brainer purchase if you're going to the trouble of dropping your transmission pan. Believe me when I say that I made the mistake of using an aftermarket gasket about three months ago, and it leaking like crazy. I used a Felpro gasket (which is usually excellent), but their trans pan gasket is absolutely terrible. It claimed to be reusable, but when I went to replace it with this Mopar one today, it had torn in about three pieces after only three months of use! So, if you're reading this and are undecided about which gasket to use, I strongly advise you to go OEM for this one. It's made of extremely tough rubber with a metal core, and I'm confident that when I put another 30,000 miles on my pan, it'll be ready to go! Go Mopar, this high-quality gasket has exceeded my expectations!.

Fit was excellent, and the cost was reasonable.
It is a decision you will not be sorry for making. There are no leaks and the quality is excellent. There's nothing else I can add.
Transmission Pan Gasket is in excellent condition. It wasn't the right one for my transmission (despite the fact that the advertisement stated that it would fit). When I realized what had happened, I was unable to return it because the deadline had passed.
