To prevent the gasket from crushing, it has built-in spacer washers.

Axle seal should also be examined. For the 4T60E and possibly the 4T65E, there are two different auto transy oil pan gaskets. NOTES: As stated in a forewarning the first design (24204624) is for trannys with (20) 8mm bolts The second design (24206182) is for twenty six six millimeter bolts. The 4T65E tranny is a heavier-duty transmission with the same housing as the 4T65. Before ordering a gasket, make sure you know the size of your bolts (just remove one and measure it). br>On a side note, (as if you weren't already perplexed), the torque specs on these (20) bolts range from 97 to 200 Nm. The standard weight is 156 pounds, but most people use 120 pounds. br>As with another reviewer, the new gasket did not stop my leak, so after further inspection, I discovered that the problem was my driver side axle seal. It's difficult to see leaks from this area, but once the wheel is removed, they're easy to spot.
