Questions & Answers
No, this is a reinforced factory gasket. There is no need for washers in this situation. However, in order to avoid leaks, the pan bolts must be torqued.
If it has the 4t40e 4 speed automatic transmission, it should fit.
It's for the Trans, to be sure. 4T40 code- It's 4 speed, so it'll fit.

Because of how it was shipped, the gasket arrived slightly bent (both metal and plastic parts). However, I was able to easily straighten it out and place it on the pan. Because the plastic/metal combination material is difficult to replicate, I'd heard bad things about aftermarket gaskets. It was difficult to find this part at first because amazon doesn't specify whether it fits my car or not, but I found this part number from rock auto and searched here to find a slight discount plus free shipping compared to rock auto.
9 Ft. Lbs. (206 in. ) lb Torque the bolts according to the star pattern, then check your torque on the pan bolts in a counterclockwise pattern. This is straight from the official Saturn GM repair manual. br>br> You'll need to take it to a mechanic to check the fluid level. There is no dip stick, so you'll have to check it after the engine and transmission have warmed up. br>br>With the filter replaced, mine used 6 and 2/3 quarts of fluid. Use 6 1/3 quarts of fluid if the filter isn't replaced. br>br>If you're going to replace the gasket, you might as well get a pan with a bolt so you can drain the transmission for future maintenance.
So far, after 10,000 miles, there have been no leaks.
Excellent gasket, well-made. I place a premium on quality. details. Before mounting the assembly back onto the trans, I applied "Seal all" (yellow tube, inexpensive) to the "perfect fit" gasket on the AC Delco perfect match pan. Placed a thin continuous bead on the pan's lip, flipped it over, applied pressure with two 20lb barbells, and 10 minutes later; Presto!.
It's an OEM product that works well and costs a lot of money.
Because my brother and I have had problems with leaking transmission gaskets in the past, I decided to use ACDelco on my 2004 Pontiac Sunfire, which I replaced a few months ago with no leaks. It is also not much more expensive to order it online than it is to buy it aftermarket.
Pontiac G6 GT AA, 2005.
The gasket is of high quality and performs admirably.
