All previous gasket material has been removed/cleaned from mounting surfaces, as per the shop manual. Mounting surfaces should not be scratched or gouged! Remove the old gasket and replace it with a new one. Sealant will be needed if the gasket is to be reused.
Pans for the E40d should all be the same. Electronic components and the torque converter are the only things that differ. Because diesel engines have a lower redline at lower rpms. As a result, diesels will have to shift sooner.

This gasket is required when replacing an old Ford E4OD transmission pan with a newer 4R100 transmission pan with a large drain plug; it is identical to the Ford factory gasket for this application. The gasket is made up of a steel and rubber sandwich, with steel washers embedded in the bolt holes to prevent overtightening. I installed it quickly and easily, and I no longer have any leaks from the filter's flat neoprene gasket. br>br>It may appear costly, but it isn't a one-time use gasket like in the past; instead, it is designed to be reused. used.
Is there no one who is compatible with you? This isn't something I do frequently. This was described as a problem in a one-star review. I inserted the bolts from the top to emphasize the issue I'm having. This gasket does not appear to be compatible with my truck. It is the application, not the gasket, that is the issue.
Shipment was two weeks latebr>I contacted the seller several timesbr>Supplier communication tone was borderline hostilebr>Seller indicated that USPS had been experiencing shipping delays since July of 2020br>I suggested that a more reliable carrier be chosen. "We have to make money," the seller responded. br>The part was exactly as described and appears to be of OEM quality.
For my 1979 F350 pickup, I made an E4OD transmission. There was always a small leak with the stock pan. There was a small leak at the gasket, nothing major, but it was inconvenient. Because this gasket will not fit the embossed stock E4OD pan, I purchased a new Dorman pan and a 4x4 style filter in addition to the gasket. My truck is now leak-free after about nine months. br>br>Strongly suggested. br>br>.
I really wanted and needed to use this gasket on a new Dorman 265-series compressor. Oil pan for the 805 transmission. br>Gasket is designed to fit the stock Ford Transmission oil pan, which has an embossed circle stamped on the edge for gasket alignment. br>Is there no way to put it together without using glue? The reusable concept is defeated!.
It started out fine, but after 18 months (20K miles), it began to leak. I purchased it for the same reason that many others on this forum did: to put it to another use The fact that it lasted 18 months suggests that there was a problem with the quality. This is my first ATP gasket, and while I would give them another chance, I find them disappointing.
I don't see any leaks. The previous owner changed the transmission fluid, but he used some sort of silicone gasket that leaked and ruined everything. This is neat and orderly, as it should be.
In my son's truck, I changed the transmission fluid and installed the filter kit's new plain rubber gasket. Within three weeks, it began to leak. Simply by looking at it, this filter is far superior. It really works.
