It isn't made of cork, which is a problem nowadays because of the way cork is manufactured. This is a standard thin gasket at this point. It's almost like cart rubber combinations, but it's a far better product than the old cork gaskets, and this is a Motorcraft I have on my truck, and it works perfectly. To be honest, I'm not sure if the old cork gaskets are still available.

My aftermarket transmission pan would not seal with the stock (reusable) gasket. This gasket did a fantastic job of sealing everything up. br>It's a rubber gasket rather than cork, which is good because it eliminates the need for a sealant. Because it comes folded, it will need to be unpacked, unfolded, and laid out flat for a day. I can't think of anything I don't like about it.
This is an excellent gasket. Fits most C6 and E4OD trannys from 1980 to the present day.
On my 2000 Ford F-250, it worked perfectly.
Excellent craftsmanship.
It was of excellent quality and a perfect fit.
