In my 2003 Buick Regal, I replaced my transmission filter recently. I dropped the pan and it was made of the same material as the gasket on the pan. This is the result of the It seemed like the new gasket was a bit thicker, but the old gasket was 10 years old so it could not have been that different. As soon as the pan was clean, I used some gasket adhesive (never use RTV) to hold the gasket in place. I let it sit while I installed the new filter and put the pan up without any issues. My installation of the new filter coincided with changing the previous one.
Over the many years I have worked in auto repair, I have consistently seen Fel-Pro to be exceptionally effective Gaskets from Pro outperform any other brand by a long shot. An auto trans pan gasket has been hard-formed to withstand the pressure from the transmission A soft rubberized frame covered in a ribbed pattern is durable and easy to clean. In the event the rear of the gasket is put down while the front screws are started, the rear of the gasket will not move. The pan gaskets I have seen have been used and then re-used It has been used a lot, without leaks. However, it is not a practice we would recommend (wink, To my knowledge, only a fel-powered teleportation device would be able to perform this Among the pros. There is a royalty of sorts paid by gasket and seal manufacturers, which is well worth the extra cost. It is not in my financial interest to invest There is only professional appreciation for gaskets and seals of the highest quality.
It costs extra, but it is worth it. Put in place. The sealer doesn't need to be used.
A rubber/metal/rubber sandwich. On my 1999 Chevy lumina that I changed trans fluid in, the factory gasket was still good after 96,000 miles. It is still a good idea to use the Fel pro gasket for safety reasons. Additionally, I did not have to scrape the old gasket off the transmission or cooling No residue remains on the pan or transmission thanks to the rubber, metal, and rubber gasket. The pan is very rigid, and while reinstalling it, it did not move or bunch up! This is a fantastic.
After a month, there were no leaks due to the perfect fit and high quality.
The gasket is excellent.
Thank goodness I decided to spend a little more on this gasket rather than another alternative. There is no need for gasket sealant and it fits perfectly on my 06 Pontiac Grand Prix. As far as I am concerned, it is not worth taking chances with trans gaskets, especially when it holds 8 qts of $10/qt trans oil.
The gaskets are of excellent quality. There is no other brand that I buy and I am glad I paid a high price for it.
