What remains to be seen is how well it performs. So far, there hasn't been any leakage that I've noticed. br>A few notes for anyone unfamiliar with changing these gaskets in a 3. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 7L is a powerful vehicle with a lot of power. Because the gasket will be stuck to the pan rather than the engine block, the pan must be removed before the gasket can be removed. Believe me when I say that getting the gasket to separate from the pan is a pain. You'll want to use every pry tool you have, but be cautious because the pan's center left "ear" is easily bent. My vehicle is a 4x4 and I looked up how to do it in U Toob. There were several methods available, and you may wish to use one of them, but I chose to remove the passenger side bolt that held the front axle tube in place. I left the front axle assembly alone and only removed the brace bolts from the bracket that connects the differential to the front cross member. None of the bolts holding the differential in place were removed or loosened. , There are three bolts in the end of that bracket that must be removed in order to gain enough play to pull the front axle forward and secure it to the cross member using a ratchet strap. It's still a tight fit, but there's enough room if you rotate the pan slightly as you lower it. ,By doing so, I was able to avoid dismantling the axle tube and CV half shaft, as well as the passenger front wheel and hub assembly, which included the brake/caliper assembly, and then having to get a wheel alignment and replace the differential oil. One method suggests removing the driver's side engine mount and lifting only the driver's side of the engine, but this requires removing the intake manifold in order for it to clear the induction cowl. I had bought a new oil pan for $27 on Amazon just in case, and I ended up using it. I could have flattened out the part of the flange that juts off to the driver's side and reused the old pan, but after accidentally cutting my ring finger to the bone and removing the tip of my left pinky finger while trying to clean the old gasket off (as I said, it REALLY wants to stick to the pan), I decided not to use the OEM pan any longer. If you discover or learn of a better method, please use it to make things easier for yourself. I was able to complete this job for about $75 instead of the $1800 estimate by draining and filtering the oil through a freshly changed coffee filter. I can't say how easy a 2wd process would be, but I'm sure it would be because the 4x4 components are what limit the amount of space available to remove the pan. All the best to you. Peace.
Perfect.
This is the second gasket I purchased because I need to service my car's oil pan and wanted to have a backup in case the first one I purchased was damaged during removal. When I first bought it and had it installed, there was never a single oil drop or oil stains on the pan, which is why I purchased another one because it is perfect.
a. a. a. a. a. Gasket supplied by the manufacturer. When the oil pan on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee rotted, I replaced it with this oil pan gasket, which fit perfectly. The number seven engine would be recommended again.
Arrived earlier than expected, was slightly bent during shipping but easily straightened, and took less than 2 hours to install on my 2005 Jeep Liberty.
It did exactly what it said it would do. No Leaks.
This bed pan appeals to me because it comes with its own gasket. Whereas the original bed pan requires special order glue to install, this is a great product if you want to save time. Installed on a 2004 Jeep Liberty 4x4 with the 3. 0L engine. 7 v- 6 engine.
