If the problem is the gasket not lining up on the pan, use dowels to help keep the gasket in place when installing it.

Is this part compatible with the Jeep TJ 1997?

This gasket is far superior to the original equipment part; it was a perfect fit, and I would recommend it. The snap-on gasket would be a fantastic addition to this gasket. During the installation process, there are step-by-step guides to help you get started. These were purchased independently.
