It's extremely simple to set up. Reaching in through the tail was the most difficult part. a flash of light- the stock filler neck is no longer in use! I've read several reviews in which people have had trouble installing the new rubber gasket. Start with a very small dab of dish-washing liquid on the funnel. It slips right onto the filler neck after a little soap around the inside! The top and bottom Allen bolts should have the same markings as the other four, and the funnel bit's locator pin should line up with the hole in the tub. However, I removed it from the funnel and it fit perfectly.

The design is fantastic, but the fit isn't quite as good as it should be. A small protrusion on the new cover is supposed to fit into a hole on the JK inside the filler area to keep it from moving once installed. The cover's protrusion is too large and will not fit inside the hole. I had to use a Dremel to open up the hole, but even then, if you're not careful, the hole can be rendered useless. I followed through on that promise. The cover shifted every time I drove around, and the flag was never properly aligned; It was slanted in the wrong direction. I fixed the problem by screwing a metal tab at the filler tube's neck to the plastic surround inside the filler area. This prevents the cover from rotating, and it now works perfectly. Overall, the cover is of excellent quality, and it complements the Jeep beautifully.

  This gas cap cover is fantastic. Provides the jeep with a much-needed facelift. There will be no more unsightly gas cap. It only took about 5 minutes to complete the installation.

As described, the product arrived brand new. It was a breeze to install, especially since I already had a cover that looked similar, so all I had to do was unscrew the Allen screws, remove the old cover, and replace it with the new one. I didn't bother to remove the old housing. I didn't have to take out the backlight this way. This item is of good quality, so I would recommend it.

It does what it says. Installing this is a breeze and only takes ten minutes. Others claim that after installation, theirs moves around and rotates. My 2008 Jeep had a small thin protrusion on the left side that fit perfectly into a factory small pin hole at the installation point. So it's safe to say that mine is unbreakable. It does not move in any way. I wish they had this exact cap with the flag in a locking option, but I'm pretty handy, so if I decide it's a big deal, I can add it later myself. The rubber gasket that fits over the gas fill neck was the most difficult part, and while it wasn't difficult, it did take some effort. What made it difficult was that the gas tank fill neck part would wiggle around just enough that it was kind of amusing trying to get the rubber part down over the neck while trying to hold the gas fill neck still at the same time. An extra pair of hands to simply hold the gas fill neck still while I fitted the rubber gasket part over it would have been ideal. If you like this gas cap, please share it with your friends and family. Simply take it. It's fine; it works and looks as it should; it adds a nice, low-cost upgrade look; and it's simple to install (10 minutes or less).
