My assessment is similar to yours, but I cannot offer any recommendations as an alternative. My first attempt at making my own from 0 finally worked. The aluminum is 125" long

Summit/Holley/everyone else demanded more than $60 just to get the correct brackets (2 of them) that came with the Holley. The cable that I used fit perfectly for both the throttle cable and the kickdown cable. When everything was tightened up, the engine ran like a champ (not as solid as Holley, but hey, its an 8-bolt).
This works perfectly as a way to connect a 700r4 to an Edelbrock. Furthermore, I already had the supposed one that was supposed to work, from the sumitt racing collection. In this case, the tv cable is more in line with the one way offset than other ones. Was really scared of running that set up, as the 700r4 burned up when I put the wrong pressure on it. Attaches to one carb stud, but it also has a lock bolt that is threaded into the housing to prevent it from rotating. I was thinking it looked kinda cheap and flimsy by looking at the I wasn't expecting such heavy metal, so I'm glad it's of good quality and not of poor quality.
What a great bracket! It's really handy and very cool. Having the throttle cable adjustable throughout its full range of motion will allow you to operate the carburetor butterflies easily and smoothly. The T can be adjusted properly, and this is more important. Connect the transmission cable to the tv. This is (the By the way, it does not stand for Television! Spectre's chrome plating is consistent with other products in the company. I wouldn't call it great, but then again, it's not something as "smack you in the face" There are some air filter setups where this isn't visible at all, but if it is with your filter housing, then it will look just fine. It looks better than the bottom plate on any carburetor. I gave it a four star rating because the thickness of the metal it's stamped from is a little on the thin side. It could have been at least one or two gauges thicker, but it will do fine for most uses. I would say that's fine as long as you're not one of those mechanics who puts a return spring on that makes the pedal so stiff that you need to depress it with both feet. It will be heavier than this for you if you are. Additionally, new throttle shafts and base plate(s) will be installed on the carburetor(s) shortly. The only thing you've accomplished with that heavy of a return spring is to wear them out prematurely! In summary, it is a good product, which I have proven to be true over the years with dozens of custom vehicles I have seen and built.
This 71 Camaro throttle cable and kickdown cable connector was exactly what I needed. I needed something like this and it worked perfectly for me. To hold the adjustment in place, you mount it to a carb bolt and have nylon locking nuts.
It would be great if the mount received the rear two carburetor bolts as well. The mount can only be attached to So I fabricated an aluminum extension piece in order to do exactly that, so it seems Taking into consideration that this kit was designed to fit universal cars, it has a lot of adjustment built in (even making the bracket, it still saved me a lot of time). I trimmed off the parts I didn't need so it looks reasonably The price is right too, so I have no hesitation in recommending this.
An edlebrock 1406 carburetor and a 700r4 were on your list. Tranny cable cannot be connected to this bracket because it is too high. Worked in the past, but not currently.
Used a summit 600 carb and everything worked just fine. Not sure why everyone says its flimsy since it's a sturdy piece and great to use. I used it to power my 1977 Camaro with a 600cc carburetor. mounted, the tabs that fold over the carb might look like they are not in the right position, but tighten them down and they will securely hold in place.
