Using my 2001 Grand Cherokee v8 4 as an example, I installed it. This would fit a 2000 too, so I would assume that it would be the same.

There is nothing wrong with the products produced by Wix. I replaced the fuel filter for my son's 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee after finding low fuel pressure (25 pounds per square inch, but the specs call for 50 lbs per square inch) and fuel pressure that dropped to zero immediately after stopping the engine. There were lots of comments online saying that the fuel pump needed to be replaced, arguing that it was undergoing inspection It is the failure of the valve (in the pump assembly) that causes the sudden drop in pressure at shutdown. The low running pressure and the low pressure cause of that problem are now fixed. Before you replace a fuel pump, make sure you try this!.
There is a well-deserved reputation among WIX fuel filters for creating high pitch noises At the time I bought the shoes, I did not know that. From what I understand, it's just a sound and not a functional problem, so after about a week, I ordered a Fram fuel filter, but the problem was still there, but it wasn't as loud as before. I finally bit the bullet and bought an expensive mopar fuel filter after about two weeks. Yes, high pitch is louder than Fram, but the fuel filter from WIX is the same. The sound seems to die down by the end of about 3 weeks, though. It is a reliable fuel filter that does what it is supposed to. For a few weeks, you just have to put up with the high pitch noise. believe that because of the vibration it makes the noise, and once the fuel is pumped into the filter, the vibration is dampened over time however, that is just my opinion.
My intention was to use this in order to fix the "long crank" problem caused by a defective pressure regulation/check valve inside the filter. I installed this and it worked fine for two days, but later it stopped working. To install this on a Jeep Cherokee, it is a pain, so next time I will get a Jeep Cherokee OEM unit to save myself the trouble. If you are installing this in a Jeep without a lift, remove the rear tire and cut an access hole in As soon as the mounting bolts are removed, you can lower it to gain access to the top.
The Jeep owner's manual states that filters cannot be replaced by the user I interpret that as "do not mess with the serviceable part". On a Jeep forum I read the stories of other owners. This made me decide, after more than 138,000 miles and a decade of service, I should change the air My 2001 Grand Cherokee is equipped with this filter, which I ordered and installed. A definite difference was made in how the Jeep idled, accelerated, and in general ran after I installed this mod. In most vehicles, the fuel filter can be found on the underside of the gas tank near the top. way to relieve the pressure in the fuel line so that you aren't sprayed with gasoline when you disconnect the fuel line. WJJeeps has a detailed procedure that I suggest you read before you start replacing the filter. I took about an hour because some of the "quick connect" lines did not work correctly. In terms of the Wix filter, yeah, it does a decent job. The price I found on Amazon was the cheapest I could find.
Overall, it works, but I have replaced two of these on my two Jeep Grand Cherokees, and one of them whistles. I heard that this is fairly common no matter what brand you buy, In the meantime, I won't worry about it, because it runs great and I will just wait for it to disappear when it does. I am an active member on the Jeep WJ forum and have seen many people replace three fans. It took me 4 filters to clear the whistle, changing brands every time. So I will live with it and take away 1 star I wish I knew why the filters did this. I installed them both the same way, one is a V-- My MAN 8 engine and Inline 6 engine both exhibit the same problem, but again I've seen it happen in.
Yet it is a loud and drowning tone that overwhelms I know that fuel is flowing through it, at the very least.
I had to swap the brackets over in order to get this filter to work. It was just easier to swap the bracket from the original filter with the bracket that came with the filter since it didn't have the rubber isolators. It is most likely that someone is complaining about noise when they are using a filter since the rubber bumpers were not used. Some of these WIX filters are showing up with the isolators, so you may already have them.
For my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I need to replace my fuel filter. There are several great filters made by WIX that maintain the fuel line pressure correctly and don't create the noise some other brands do.
