Questions & Answers
The FICM's power supply section was only replaced by this part. The data module does not need to be updated (flashed).
The installation of the power supply board is very simple. The job is more difficult when it comes to removing and replacing the FICM. It can be completed by a person with average mechanical abilities. When reinstalling the FICM, make sure the bottom plugs are completely inserted.

I believe the voltage is 48 volts.

I've worked on a lot of FICMs, and this one seemed promising because it's a less expensive power supply than the name brand I'm used to. I attempted to save my customer some money, but it backfired. After a little more than a week, the board was completely burnt out.
FICM is a fantastic program. We had to replace the starter as well because we burned it up trying to start it before we figured out what was wrong. The pickup is even more sluggish this time. This alone saved us a significant amount of money. I'm so glad I came across it on Amazon. I had a mechanic replace a high-pressure oil pump, and when I paid him $3,000 and picked up the truck, he told me it would now be cold-natured. I won't be returning to him because it wasn't difficult to get started until then. Because I didn't trust him anymore, and he'd worked on my pickups several times, it took a long time to figure out what the issue was. I've only taken the pickup for a test drive so far because the tags expired while I was broken down, but I should have new tags tomorrow and will be able to drive it.
We actually displayed 48 for the first second. Our ScanGuage showed 5 volts, which appeared to be adequate. The voltage began to drop rapidly almost immediately, so we removed it and discovered that a capacitor had blown. This FICM is not to be purchased.
My 2006 Ford F-150 In the cold, the 350 always started one cylinder at a time, and if I didn't have it plugged in, I'd probably crank it over until the batteries were nearly dead. It doesn't matter how cold it is after replacing the FICM power module; it starts up immediately. Sure, it needs to warm up, but it's already firing on all cylinders. It's not too difficult to set up. It took an hour and a half for me to complete. Getting the entire FICM in and out has been the most difficult part. So far, the product has been excellent, and the price has been very reasonable.
The product does not look like it does in the picture. The actual product is a black board with different capacitors and other components, which is a bit concerning. That said, it's simple to put together and has anti-vibration glue around the main components that doesn't get in the way of the mounting holes. I've only had it for two days, but it maintains 48 volts and does not go any higher. I'm hoping it'll be dependable in the long run as well.
On cold starts, the ficm voltage on my 2004 excursion was in the 30's, and you could tell something wasn't quite right. It now reads 47 after I swapped out the module. Always give yourself a five. It also performs better when started from a cold position. If it lasts, only time will tell, but it appears to be well-made to me.
There are 229 people who are expected to arrive. The truck ran perfectly after I installed it in the FICM. Over the course of two days, I drove the truck approximately 50 miles. It suddenly felt as if four of the eight cylinders had been cut off. I had to limp back to the shop, but I was able to do so safely. I removed the FICM and discovered that the control module had a couple of burned spots. After the Dorman arrived, I replaced this unit, and I haven't had any issues since. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's a fluke, but I couldn't get this thing to work.
Unfortunately, it did not resolve my issue with cold starts. I've changed the glowplugs, one harness, both batteries, fuel filters, and now the FICM Board, but the car still won't start.
