Is there a metal retaining ring included with this strainer?

A metal retaining ring is not included with the Airtex FS217. Fuel strainers are the only thing that need replacement.

The 2013 Kia Soul does not have this feature

This part does not fit my 2013 Kia Soul, even though the online ordering tool indicates it does. It turns out that the fuel strainer cannot be replaced at all since the compartment for the fuel strainer is welded shut within the plastic fuel filter body. As a complete unit, you need to replace the fuel strainer with the fuel filter. It is only possible to purchase the fuel filter from an OEM dealer.
