Questions & Answers
There is a male and a female on both ends of a 6AN
If you plan to tighten all the way, make sure that it's lined up first
The answer is yes
One to one is about what you need. In addition to the clearance required for proper tightening of the fitting, allow at least 5 inches for the tools used to work. There is just over one inch between the 90 degree bend and the corner of the fitting when installed, but it is more like 3/4 inch at the extreme bend. If you are using thread locker or a sealer, be sure to use one. For sealing automotive oil, I used Teflon tape.

My steel hoses were fitted with a pair of these. I was able to install the first one fine, but discovered (after installation) a leak on the second one. The work I did for my work check was carried out by me as an aerospace technician. Everything is fine except for the liquid coming out of the hole. It is made in the USA steel 90s that I order. Since these were out of tolerance, you have to choose what brakes to use. would like to point out that some aluminum products produced in China are of inferior quality and have no quality control checks (first article only). This should be taken into consideration.
When I used Parker fittings on professionally made lines, I had to use a wrench to turn the entire fitting on. Thus, it leaked when used. All is well now that this fitting has been replaced with a different brand. In fact, I wasn't able to toss it in the trash fast enough so I didn't waste my time returning it.
Using this method also enables you to get things reasonably tight while still maintaining the swivel functionality so that you can ensure a proper connection AND positioning before you do the final tightening down to lock everything into place.
I've been working on this annotated bibliography An adapter with a 90-degree angle was used on a non-square hole On an experimental aircraft there is a critical oil drain line. Since American Standard open end wrenches were not compatible with the female nut, an adjustable wrench had to be used to tighten it. It didn't leak and it looked as if the thread cut and flared were of good quality. Fittings for 90 degree adapters are hard to find in AN-series It is a size 4, so I am happy to make use of it for the stated use case.
I had to relocate the power steering fluid return lines so the header tubes weren't in contact. These were designed to accommodate this. It has been about a month since there have been no.
It fitted perfectly and did everything I wanted it to do. I like the radius of this.
The clearance & inspection was what I needed I found it to be quite a bit more affordable than the competition and This is a win-win situation, as the software works as intended.
