There are a lot of great things but they don't fit together

Please let me know if the measurements given are correct. The tapered end fits perfectly into my hose fitting, but it says it's It states on the other end that it is 3/8, but it won't fit either my radiator or transmission connections. Is this a problem anyone has experienced. Replacing things is not my favorite thing to do.
