Your evap canister must be replaced more than just once

In my 2005 Toyota matrix, an engine check engine light has been on for 2 years. The shop told me I needed to replace the evap canister, and I estimated it would cost me over 200 if I bought it The codes I found led me to find BS, and I also found out that the purge valve was faulty, since this thing sits outside and would be exposed to It has not been a problem since I replaced it. It took no time to install this one as the bolts were damaged so I couldn't remove the old one. I just strapped it in and connected the wires. There's a boom.
