Selected User Reviews For Edelbrock 1840 Thunder Series AVS Carburetor Calibration Kit
The set was DC'd (1 set). Based on the reviews, I was worried that the kit might be incomplete. As I opened the seal and made the inventory, I recorded the process on video. The metering rods were limited to four sets. After communicating with Edelbrock, I was informed that the metering rod I had requested As far as the kit was concerned, the rest was easy to understand. There ought to be a notation on Edelbrock's inventory sheet that those rods are no longer included in #1416 Rods This is 65x0.
I replaced the 068 X 047 metering rods on my engine with the ones suggested by Edelbrock's Jet Reference Chart. The code for this is 065X. A total of 042 metering rods were available. My decision to order this kit came from the fact that this kit was supposed to cover all the items I would need to fine tune my carburetor, as well as others. I broke the seal and opened the container when I received it. The NON RETURNABLE SEAL on the package was intact. This kit is supposed to come with five pairs of metering rods (a total of 10) according to the item description and the manufacturer's label inside the packaging. There are two of each of the following rod numbers (id stamped on part)
In reality, there were only eight metering rods in the sealed container The first would be 6537, the next would be 6542 (as this is what I wanted to begin with), and then 3 In that I received 3 6547's, I installed a pair of these instead as they are close in size and I hope they will work. I double checked each of these rod numbers with the aid of 12 power magnification to ensure they were correct. It's true that I received all of the listed springs Edelbrock parts have been used or ordered by me for decades and I have always been satisfied with them. There is a strong possibility this isn't a common mistake, however we wanted to make everyone aware of it in the hopes that something like this will not happen again. I am updating As part of its commitment to replace this item at no cost to me, Amazon has agreed to do so. Thanks, this is one of the main reasons I shop at Amazon
UPDATE 5 It arrived today and was sent at no cost to me as a replacement kit. Similarly, the supposed to have 5 pair of meters rods were only received 4. I took a vide of the kit intact, allowing me to observe that 8 metering rods are contained in this kit. Because the kit is clear plastic, I could see before breaking the seal that only 8 After looking at the part numbers, I discover that the pair is the only thing I'm missing this time. The code for this is 065X. Stamped on part 6542 are the ID numbers 042 and 04. This #6542 is missing from my previous kit, my current kit, and is even the first choice when I order on the Reference Choice. I guess I will have to order them separately if I want these rods. This is not a happy feeling. Gaylon Bailey is a star athlete.
The kit was damaged because someone took parts from it and copied the inventory list, deleting that part number and then gluing the new list on top of the original package content sheet. This was one of the parts I needed, but it was not there. I put a lot of work into this for a $13 part! There are four sets of rods on the left side of this photocopy, but there are five set on the left! My current order is not complete so I have to reorder and hopefully get it soon.
On 1906, this works wonderfully.
I did what I was supposed to do.
I was able to get a close fuel to air ratio, the system worked flawlessly. Definitely a product to recommend.
This calibration kit is particularly difficult to find at a reasonable price. Fortunately, I was able to find it and order it on Amazon. In Germany, I received it after only a couple of weeks. I am very satisfied with the kit, it matches the description perfectly and is very useful to me. Owners of Edelbrocks should definitely consider this seller.
I like it.
