Questions & Answers

Are both fuel filters included in this package?

Yes, it has new "O" rings as well as filters.

According to the Ford website, the part number should be fd-. What is the difference between 4606 and 4616? It's for 04:06 p.m. ?

If you go to the Ford Parts website, you'll find a lot of interesting information. When you click the "supersession" button, you'll see Ford part 9155(fd-fd-fd-fd-fd-fd-fd-f 9N184 has taken the place of part 4606). If you click on the image of the box on Amazon, it will enlarge to show the entire box. You'll notice that the other part number listed on 4616 is 9N184. I'm not sure why the Ford site still lists it under the old part number (and why the "add to cart" option is still listed under the old number), but I've seen similar situations before on the Ford site. However, I've looked at a few other websites as well. The fd-type appears to be the most likely candidate. The 4616 fuel filters are compatible with the 6.

Is this filter compatible with a 2004 Ford 250 Super Duty 6? What is a 0 diesel truck?

That is correct. It is a perfect match for our 2003 6. 0 diesel. On these trucks, I strongly advise you to use OEM filters. They're a perfect match for each other. According to what I've read, some aftermarket parts don't fit as well. The same can be said for oil filters. Btw - Amazon has a low-profile fuel filter socket that is quite useful. It makes replacing the fuel pump cap along the frame rail under the truck a little easier. That or a low-profile ratchet with a flexible head are my tools of choice.

Is this part compatible with a 2005 Ford F-350 6?

It does, in fact. My truck is a 2005 Ford F350 with a 6-speed manual transmission. They're something I always use.

Filters that are made to look real but aren't
3/5

I went to put these in my 6 year old car. 0 and the engine one didn't quite fit, so I went with the rail-mounted one, which was about 3/4" too long. "Made in Chian" is written on them because they are so bad. They didn't even know how to spell China properly!.

I must have been one of the few people who got a Chinese knockoff because of the poor quality and fitment
3/5

I had to wiggle the fuel filter under the hood into place because it was too big for the cap. Also, the O ring didn't fit properly. The o ring blew out the side after I installed it and torqued it to specs, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and reinstalled it without a leak and drove to work. I smelled diesel as I drove home from work (at midnight, an hour away) and pulled over to investigate. To my surprise, diesel was spraying all over my engine bay. I had to enlist the help of a friend who was willing to drive an hour to pick me up. Amazon should keep a closer eye on what they're selling. What a waste of time and money. br>br>Edit* just replaced everything, and the filter was wider and longer than it should have been. This blowing out the o-ring was long enough to cause the cap to not seat properly. ring. br>Thank you, Amazon, for allowing a potentially dangerous situation to occur due to your excellent quality control.

Filters that aren't designed for aircraft
3/5

The term "made in China" does not apply. This is a rip-off! If you want genuine motorcraft filters, do not purchase. In the 6, they don't quite fit. A made in China sticker was on the top of my motorcraft box. I don't even know how to spell China correctly. The filters are not even packaged in plastic like genuine Motorcraft filters; they are simply loose in the box. Even the gaskets aren't in the right place.

Motorcraft Filters should be used in your 6
5/5

If your score is a six, you're in good shape. Using Motorcraft Filters on your truck is a must! You can see why from guys who work on these trucks for a living if you do a YouTube search. br>br>I looked online for a definitive answer to the socket size for the upper and lower filter caps because I knew I didn't have the right ones; the upper is 24mm and the lower is 36mm on mine. You can also purchase specialized sockets for this task. Both cans are simple to replace, but the bottom can is a bit clumsy. I set a pan on the ground and did my best to contain the diesel by wrapping a garbage bag around the fuel pump's bottom. Anyway, the filter was $45 and the sockets were $16 if I did it myself. This job at Ford and my local diesel shop cost me $160. In ten thousand miles, I'll order again.

This filter is not compatible with the engine it is supposed to be used with! I go to the same oil change shop for labor every time
3/5

I bought a Ford Oil Filter and used the same oil I'd been using since the truck was new, and I changed the oil every 5K miles. Well, I bought from this seller and it would not fit into the canister when I tried to install it on the truck. The technician, I, and the Manager all put forth their best efforts. I quickly recovered with a different filter (not the type I prefer to use), and now I'm stuck with this "off" size filter and another in my office that will most likely fail. I feel like I was taken advantage of because I paid for filters that did not fit. Oh, and the two filters I purchased were neatly packaged in the correct box, complete with the correct number.

For your Ford truck, only OEM and correct parts will do! This is an OEM Motorcraft part for a fraction of the dealer's price! Don't buy Ford filters that aren't made by Ford
5/5

There are simply too many issues to deal with. These originals are slightly more expensive than knockoffs, but they are half the price of a dealership, so you get the best of both worlds. It is very simple to change them. 19 nM, on the other hand, does not equal 19 da. nM. The plastic cap on top of the motor housing says to tighten to 19nm, so I rotated it to 19 and tightened it down with my 1/2" torque wrench. The 1/2" wrench, on the other hand, is in DA NM (deca newton meters). ) = x 10. So, what was supposed to be tightened to 14 ft. The torque was tightened to 140 ft lbs (which is correct, by the way). lbs. It's on now, and I don't think it'll come off any time soon. The oil filter cap and the filter on the rail both use the same 36mm wrench. Some have suggested that 35mm will suffice; I am unable to comment. I didn't have either, so I had to make do with "close enough. " For tool convenience, they should have used the same wrench as the oil filter housing. Anyway, there are plenty of great YouTube videos on how to replace these, and I feel stupid for paying the dealership for 5 years to do it for me at 4-years-old. 5 times the price of these components.

For your 6, these are the only filters you should use
5/5

Don't use any knockoffs or aftermarket brands unless you get the International version from them (the VT365 engine was designed by International, but you can look into that for yourself). The majority of them will not fit properly, and many of them will be watertight. Because your engine is such a costly piece of equipment, saving a few dollars on filters will almost certainly cost you thousands in the long run. br>br> I change my oil (Shell Rotella T6) every 5k miles and replace my fuel filters every other oil change. Our engines' HPOP eats up the oil, so there's no such thing as a 6-month oil change interval. Check the lower filter's water trap on a regular basis, especially if you've been stopping at any sketchy, low-volume gas stations. br>br>(I see a lot of people are getting fake Chinese garbage; the real deal is U. S. garbage. ) made! Don't even try to install anything with the words "China" or "Chian" on it! I've never received a phony set of Amazon filters, but it appears that we should be cautious.

The product has evolved and is no longer appropriate
3/5

The dimensions of FD 4616 have changed, and it no longer fits the number 6. Diesel engines with a displacement of 0 liters The filter will not sit flush against the cap. The new filter is 1/16" taller and 1/16" wider than the old one. Only the pleated filter material surrounded the primary filter, which did not have the mesh.
