A 2006 GMC Duramax has been upgraded to a TP3018 from a TP3012.
My 2005 Duramax is equipped with this filter.

As shown here, AC Delco filters look so similar that I didn't notice that I was getting a FJF brand until I got to the time to install it. I paid for a genuine AC Delco filter but what I received was FJF. I even used one of GM's part numbers. So I went get another filter since it did not seem worth taking a chance on something that I don't know much It feels as if I was taken advantage of.
This is junk! The TP3012 has been replaced with this new model which is pretty disappointing. The filters are what I use on my Duramax since several years. A first issue was that the top gasket was warped and did not fit I was able to keep it in the filter after fighting that. The second issue was that the threading or something else did not work and the filter would not attach. It took me a while to get it on, but I finally did. The third issue is the engine doesn't sit properly and leaks diesel, as reported by several people on this forum. Yes, it was a tight fit. It makes you wonder how good their new filtering system is if so many issues are happening with their new design. Although I would like to return it, I am highly doubt that Amazon would accept it back since it has gasoline This could have just been a bad filter, but I think I'll hop over to Napa and get Wix this time. Since years of purchase from ACDelco fuel filters, I have been a satisfied customer. Amazon has been the location from which I have purchased filters for my Chevrolet 6 from in the past. Although the filter is marked as TP3018, the sub-type does not match what was on the box. There is a change from older models in terms of the numbers. In order to clean my truck, I need a TP3018/12664429 filter. White paint and plastic packaging gave them a lifetime of service. Apparently, there was some kind of manufacturing defect in the filter, allowing it to leak diesel and let air in. It took me a week to find a solution and I had to buy another Wix filter to resolve the problem. The box was thrown away along with the filter that was on the truck before I put this defective one on, so I was unable to.
