The bad news is that once the throttle body is attached, the clamp on that side cannot be tightened. br>In addition, the tube had a lot of trouble aligning to get it straight, even after I fully inserted the breather hard line into the side, whereas the dorman tube on my 2007 Pilot had no such issues. br>I considered simply re-iterating what I had already said. However, on this Dorman unit, the OEM clamp can only get so tight. br>I'll eventually come up with a better clamping solution, but for now, this will suffice.
This product worked so well that after a quick installation, my wife was unprepared for the amount of power our SUV's engine could produce and drove it off the road, totaling the vehicle. Because it would be foolish of me to hold her responsible for this. I'm going to blame this part; sorry, Dorman, you just can't do what she does for me.
The quality is terrible. This was packaged in a Dorman box with a label that was identical to one purchased at a parts store. There is a significant difference. The one I got from the parts store was excellent quality rubber, identical to the OEM part, whereas the one I got from Amazon was not even close. The rubber was hard and gleaming. It's blotchy and looks like it's made of cheap plastic. I requested a refund and returned it.
The old hose had a split in it. The old was out of the vehicle in just a few quick turns per bolt/screw. Repeat the procedure to install the new one, which was a perfect fit. The entire process took about 30 minutes, including getting and setting up the tools.
This was the perfect match for my 2011 Honda Pilot EX-L. L, and it was simple to set up. The original equipment had failed, and this was ideal because it came with new clamps to go with the new hose. It's a foregone conclusion. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.
The third one I've had to install since the 2011 pilot was new, and it fit like a factory part. For some reason, they break and crack. I used 303 spray on this one in the hopes of extending its life. The car is idling nicely and smoothly once more.
The manufacturer's/seller's description was spot on. It is strongly advised that you inspect your inlet tube for damage. I fixed the rough idle. Because the air filter was checked so frequently, the old one had a rip in it. I'm delighted with my purchase.
This worked out perfectly as a stand-in for the original. It costs a third of what an OEM one does and does the same job. Plus, unlike the ten-year-old one it replaced, it wasn't cracked or broken.
