However, it is not very precise. Use loctite on the snorkel studs and don't overtighten them before installing on the fender. In order to make room for a future "house" battery installation, I moved my pcm to the inside of the cab and used the spectre inline air filter instead of my stock air box. PERFECT! 95XJ. It has a great appearance and is well-fitting. It is simple to set up. Oh & I've done a lot of hard rock crawling trails, and the price is unbeatable! This thing can take a beating and keep on going. I didn't use the templet in any way. In addition, I entered the air box from the side, rather than from the bottom. This gives you more space and ensures that it does not snag on anything. Although I had to change the inlet on my air box, it was clearly the best option. Just make sure you seal your snorkel with a high-quality sealer. I also made covers for the snorkel hoses under the fender to protect them from being damaged by rocks. I have a 100% stock of this product and I am a 100% stock of this product and I I'm going to get one for my wife's TJ. Also, I was blown away by how much the snorkel improved my throttle response. the amount of gas I use My XJ's power was greatly enhanced by the cool, clean air coming in from above. A big thumbs up!.

This isn't a one-and-done situation. This snorkel caused me a lot of problems. First and foremost, if you have a facelift XJ, be aware that the snorkel runs through the fender where it mounts, requiring you to relocate your washer fluid reservoir. br>To make the snorkel adapter piece fit properly, the air box needed to be trimmed/shaved down, and the overall routing didn't appeal to me. Instead of going down, over, forward, back up, and back through the fender like it does now, I would have preferred relocating the ECU and running it straight through the engine bay and back through the fender. This could be accomplished by modifying the air box adapter, but I didn't want to go to the trouble. Having said that, I'm still pleased with the end result, as the outer part of the snorkel is well-mounted and attractive. I'd recommend spending a little more money on a different snorkel if you want something that is quick and easy to install. This isn't a bad option if you're willing to put in the effort and want to save money.

The design does not appeal to me. The washer reservoir must be relocated. This was not created by an engineer. I redesigned it to fit much better and eliminated the need to relocate the reservoir.

The template should not be relied upon. My template was off by a long shot. I ended up using it again, but this time I eyeballed where the holes would actually land before die grinding the studs through. You'll also require a 3 1/2" hole saw, which I recommend Milwaukee for. Also, go to Home Depot and get a 3" 90 degree elbow, and watch a YouTube video on how to connect your snorkel better. I don't have enough time to write out instructions.

There are no written instructions included, but there are a number of YouTube videos that will walk you through the process. The fender and engine compartment must both be cut. Once you've measured twice, you've only got to cut once! Overall, the fit is excellent.
