Slight gitch on a 97 Camry
4/5

The only issue is that instead of the 1/2" fitting on this air intake, Toyota uses a 5/16" air hose to connect to its valve cover. The 1/2" hose is fitted to the 98 Camry. On the web, all of the intakes have a 1/2" pvc air fitting to the valve cover. I can only guess that the differences in mine are due to the Japanese and American manufacturing processes. In 1997, the Toyota Camry was also produced in the United States. Look at the vin if it starts with a J and was made in Japan if it's from Tennessee's T state. This is useful information to have when ordering parts from a company that claims to be based in Japan. This is merely a source of fresh air for the pvc system. If the feed 5/16" is a little loose, add electrical tape to the 5/16" and shove it into the adapter hose. Just letting you know so you don't get caught off guard.

It has the same feel and fit as the original
5/5

Based on the photo in the advertisement, I was concerned about the quality, but I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. In terms of weight, thickness, and flexibility, it feels exactly like the OEM part. In the photos, you can see the Toyota OEM part that came with my 1999 Camry next to the one I got. In almost every way, it's the same. It's the same thickness as the original, and it doesn't have that rubbery feel that cheap parts have. It has a good foundation. I'll give an update after a summer in the Texas heat. At the moment, I recommend that you read this section.

It works in my TMMK Kentucky 97 Camry, but there are some issues with it
4/5

I installed it in my TMMK 97 Camry, and while it appears to be very sturdy, there are some fit issues. These cars were reportedly built in both Japan and TMMK (Kentucky), and their air intake hoses were slightly different. All of the hoses on the market right now (including this one) appear to be from Japan. The issues I had were as follows:

- The small PCV/crankcase vent hose that connects the valve cover to this hose had to be replaced because it would not fit on the new intake hose, as other people have mentioned. The original PCV hose was 3/8" in diameter, but the new intake hose is 15/32" in diameter. I didn't realize it until after I disassembled everything, but I was able to order 2' of 15/32" ID PCV SAE J30R7 hose for about $4 from a local auto parts store. They charged me $50 and brought it to my home. This type of hose (also known as crankcase ventilation hose) is specifically designed for this application. )br>br>- )br>br>- )br>br>- ) The next issue is how the resonator (the large plastic box on the intake hose's underside) attaches to the intake hose and the air cleaner. To secure the resonator, there is a 3/8" mounting hole on the underside of the air intake hose, but it is not in the proper location. To get everything to line up, I had to open it up even more. The mounting bolt that secures the resonator to the air filter housing, however, proved to be the most problematic. The air intake hose is stiff and, I believe, not properly shaped, so it doesn't hold the resonator in place, and I can't bolt the resonator to the air filter housing. I had to use cable ties to connect the two holes, which were 5/8" apart. Nothing could be forced to fall into place.

- Because the air intake hose does not hold the air filter upper housing in place, putting it in place is extremely difficult.

- The air intake hose has notches in some of the openings to help you align the connection while you're installing it. I had to cut new notches because the old ones were all in the wrong places. SUMMARY: br>br> I get the impression that the people who designed this hose have never attempted to install one in a Camry, and perhaps have never even seen one. However, I was able to make it work, and the alternative of purchasing a genuine Toyota hose would cost $100. Although the PCV hose would still need to be replaced, the resonator and air filter housing might fit correctly. So it's a question of what kind of trade-off you're willing to make. a person's desire to make offs.

The focus of this unit is on 'quality
5/5

' The QUALITY of this air intake hose blew me away! There are less expensive air hoses that do the same job, but the flexible yet durable rubber used in this hose is unmatched! This is the hose you should buy if you need it! Check the older air hose in your car if you own a 1997 to 1999 Camry. BEFORE bringing it in for smog testing checked! This air hose is in poor condition. Toyota products are known for their high quality. The people in charge of the smog were well aware of this. My Camry did, in fact, pass the air-conditioning test. However, I was not allowed to sign the contract because of the high quality specifications. OFF ONLY AFTER THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE, THE INSPECTOR FOUND A NEARLY INVISIBLE CRACK IN THIS MODEL OF AIR INJECTION HOSE. AFTER the smog segment was finished! I was then required to make a single payment- I was forced to replace a new air hose, so I did a seemingly pointless'recheck'! THEREFORE, BE FOREWARNED! THIS hose comes with a fantastic warranty that protects you from problems similar to the one I had. with a well-informed, but 'Greedy' is a word that comes to mind when I think of myself. Inspectors of the air quality! As a result, DON'T PERMIT IT TO HAPPEN TO YOU!.

It's fine, but it's a pain to get up and running
3/5

Installing this item was a pain. It's completely out of whack. I was about to return it, but I finally got it installed after swearing for an hour to get it to fit. To align it with the rest of the connections, I had to cut a piece of (non-essential) rubber. I'm not sure I'd recommend this product because it wasn't built to OEM standards. However, if you're on a budget and don't mind putting in some effort during installation, this is the cheapest option.

Newer parts should be used to replace old ones
5/5

My problem was solved thanks to this new component! My air intake hose came off the clamp that goes into the cylinder body the head body and it was cracked so I just re clamped it and it worked pretty good until I went on a b l m road and it came off and I noticed that my transmission seemed to be not working very well when I got back so I re-clamped it and it worked pretty good until I went on a b l m road and it came off and I noticed that my transmission seemed to be not I taped it and it seemed to work okay but then I got the air intake hose from GWA Auto Parts and I was really happy and pleased will finally the morning, yesterday morning I installed the air intake hose and my car runs great and it was really stuttering and having problems before I did this the tape job worked kind of sort of but it still sputtered and sometimes the transmission didn't engage and anyway now with the new air intake hose my car runs pretty good I do have some minor issues but overall 5 * (stars)br>Way to go. br>Jon Tiger is a character in the film Jon Tiger, which was directed by Jon Tiger.

Dorman isn't as good as this
5/5

To be honest, this part is far superior to Dorman's in terms of quality. AA ignition was also very helpful, and it was also less expensive. It was a perfect fit for my 1998 Toyota Camry.
