I switched from my Magnaflow because there was a lot of drone that I couldn't hear. With these Gibson mufflers, there is almost no drone now, and the sound is fantastic. It's not too loud, but not too quiet either. You get on it and it wakes up to a low tone rumble. It comes with pipe clamps, which are the only inexpensive item in the box, and I didn't care for them. I welded them in because I had a wire feed. If you decide to clamp rather than weld, invest in a good set of clamps to complement this setup.
It's well-made, with simple instructions and a great appearance. The only reason I gave them three stars was because the driver's side pipe was not flared enough to slip over the exhaust pipe once the resonator was removed; a quick trip to Harbor Freight for a pipe expander tool solved the problem; it would have been a bigger deal if I had to buy the tool specifically for this, but I had already planned on getting one for another project.
This is my second Durango, and I've installed the Gibson exhaust on both of them, and I really like the sound it gives the 5. 7-year-old driver who can still drive on a daily basis.
It is difficult to set up. In comparison to other exhaust systems I've installed, this one was difficult to set up. Just keep in mind that the installation will take a few hours. It does, however, sound fantastic. It gives my Durango a darker, more aggressive tone that isn't too loud.
Wow, that was a breeze to install, and my Durango RT makes a fantastic noise! On both the low and high end, there's a significant increase in power. The only problem was getting the tips to be centered on the bumper cutouts?.
What a fantastic sound! More traditional than the Borla, which has a raspy flavor in my opinion. There's no drone inside the Durango, so it's not too loud.
It appears to be fantastic. It's my first Gibson product, and I'm very pleased with it. While they're there, have the muffler shop remove the middle muffler. If not, it doesn't sound too dissimilar from stock. I noticed a difference in power, to be honest. However, a dyno test suggests a 15-horsepower boost.
That sounds fantastic!.
