There is no need for modifications since the fit is direct. I found this part to be significantly less expensive than the OEM Subaru part for my 2006.

I found this part to be fitting. The P1410 on my WRX threw me. I was able to save a significant amount of money by ordering this part instead of buying the alternative. The replacement of the Subaru part should be an OEM part.
