It might be necessary to buy one from a Chevrolet/GMC dealer. In the past, I have had no problem ordering the new one for my truck whenever I changed mine. I assume your vehicle has central air conditioning.
It is true. It is at least directly below the water pump on my 2007 GMC Sierra SS
No idea what bolt size (s) this part was for, but I used it on my 02 Chevy HD2500 with a 6L gas engine. Your discovery of the missing bolt(s) suggests an issue. I would go to your dealer's parts counter and purchase the bolts you need from them if I were in your position. Although you will be charged between three and four times the price of the bolts, you will feel assured that you have the right parts for your current vehicle. It is possible for the serpentine belt to fail due to the tensioner not doing its job correctly. Among other things, the belt is the only thing that connects the motor's power to the alternator, power steering, water pump, e.t.c.
While one of the belts fits the 2002 silverado AC compressor belt, the other does not. The 12573024 appears to be designed entirely differently than the one for the '96 Silverado.

That's all you need to know now. My first thought was that something under the hood or even the transmission might be malfunctioning. At certain RPMs, I would hear the engine squeal. Suddenly, they would stop if we put a little gas in it. The old tensioner has a damaged pulley. We have ordered a new pulley. However, I thought it might be wise to also install it first on a new tensioner. That's the end of the noise. It is likely that the grease is too thick in the pulley, causing the belt to slip and the pulley to slow down or stop moving. You can probably drive it fine with it on, despite the squeal, since it is for the A/C. After grease is distributed, it may go away after a while. A spare pulley I keep in my truck is mounted to the tensioner on my old tensioner. Likewise, you would need spare parts if you drive a long distance. I am one of those who keeps spares in the truck. This tensioner comes with a warning, so if you get it and hear noises that sound like your truck is having major problems, take action right away.
An alternator that supplies 145amps to a 3L v8. I selected this part to replace my faulty a/c compressor tensioner, people have questions about the two different models of this part. If I were to describe it in a few words, I would say that it came up very quickly and replaced my old part well. There are two smooth pulleys here. This is the first one.
The problem has been solved. Unless you really want to be disappointed, don't use aftermarket parts for this.
It is a perfect replacement part for the original equipment manufacturer. We installed a new belt and the noise has gone away. The pulleys and bearing seals were also removed, and the bearings were repacked after the bearing seals were removed using a dental pick. There were no water drops in them at all. I can now drive my truck without any noise and know it is working properly. This is a 2004 There were 127k miles on this vehicle originally.
Our 2005 GM LS2 engine was exactly replaced by this part. We decided to go with ACDelco OEM equipment.
We recommend it.
It is known that when it is cold outside and you start your vehicle, your vehicle will make a weird sound for about sixty It seems to me that the grease is low quality and freezes in cold temperatures.
This is not an appropriate fit for you This is an exact replacement for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The fitment chart for the 1999 is incorrect. Having installed it already, I want to make sure everything works. Thank you

When the cold weather hit last winter, the system worked properly until the temperatures dropped. A bearing that goes below 30 degrees will give out a loud squeal between 1750 and 1900 revolutions per minute. A squeal will not be heard if the speed of the engine is above or below that range. As the truck got warmer, the smell would go away. ACDelco didn't live up to my expectations. Until the new one arrives, keep the old one. It will be my responsibility to replace the bad bearing.
Three months ago I rebuilt the engine so I bought a new one as preventive maintenance to ensure it would work just as well. It's high-quality and I expect it to last the same length of time.
