Questions & Answers

What do I need to do to use these on a TBI and vortec SBC 350 heads after I tap holes and remove stock pressed studs? Do I need to machine heads and can I use guide plates?

It is possible to use these heads on Vortec heads, and guide plates can be used as well.

Would it be possible to use roller rockers, and the taller posilocks type nuts in place of the stock nuts and rockers?

These are the dimensions of the stud It is 3/8" in diameter at the top, 7/16" in diameter at the base & 32" in length In total, the length is 325 cm. How it works depends on the type of roller rocker you are

It is not possible to use these heads unless they have been modified

The studs appear to be decent, but were advertised to fit a sb Chevy 350 Vortec head without the need for the stud bosses to be machined. There is no truth to this statement. A nut integrated into the stud does not allow for a long enough screwdriver to tighten it down. A stud needs to be re-machined or longer pushrods need to be height of the resulting column is still only a fraction of the original press-run height. There are increased heights in the studs so I do not know whether reinstalling the valve cover will fit because of the increased heights. I should have checked other sellers before buying since all of them state that the bosses must be machined to accommodate the studs. One set of screws was not enough, so I ordered another I tapped the holes before I put the nuts in, so I tapped in studs without using the integrated nuts.
