The product has been manufactured incorrectly, and it is not a safe upgrade for an LS engine without significant modification. If you remove the o ring from the outer and insert the barbell, you will immediately notice it is too loose to provide the oil blockage on the inner bore required to prevent dirty oil from bypassing the passage. So, on this incorrectly manufactured part, the only solution is to machine another o ring groove on the opposite end to actually seal the spool in its bore. This is not an issue for me because I have a lathe at home, but it is for those who do not. Return this part because it will bypass significantly more oil than the stock plastic barbell.
When you push it in, it starts to pull aluminum away from the barbell. I had to order a replacement from a different manufacturer with better quality control. I strongly advise anyone who is considering purchasing this product to think twice.
Although the quality appeared to be excellent, the block did not fit my LS. It was necessary to purchase OEM from a dealer.
I couldn't get it to work for me. Although it appears to be attractive, it does not fit my size 5. The bolt hole was hidden by a factory part.
I was afraid it would break and I'd be ***** if I couldn't get it into the engine because it was so tight. Make sure everything is in good working order and lubricate it. It had to be "screwed" in with a lot of force.
Don't be alarmed if it's a tight fit. Use a dead blow or a brass hammer to send the Oring in.
To get it in, I had to use my drill and a small emery cloth to spin it. It still tapped in snugly with some careful soft hammer taps after the anodizing was removed. Much more comfortable to wear than the original! There isn't anything that can be done about it!.
This item has a gleaming, modern appearance. However, the passage must be drilled and sanded before it will fit. There was no way I could get it in there no matter how hard I tried. It might work if your block is immaculate and brand new, but it wouldn't work on an older one. For me, it was a complete waste of money. Go to YouTube and search for it. Take a look at what they'll have to do to get the system up and running.
