Freeze Plugs Made of Billet Aluminum

From 1989 to 2007, this model is suitable for 5. Cummins engine with 9 liters, 12 valves, and 24 valves.

With a lot of boost, high pressures, and a lot of RPM, it's possible to be successful.

A Michigan Motorsports Product of High Quality

Remove your factory side freeze plugs and clean the bore with scotchbrite (make sure there is nothing in the bore that can cut the o-ring before installing the APP billet freeze plugs). Install the plug in the block by threading the bolt two full turns into the plug retainer. Torque up to 20 ft. lbs. Only apply hand pressure to the freeze plug when inserting it.

Questions & Answers

Is this supposed to take the place of the large freeze plug on the block behind the turbo? The diameter of the freeze plugs is 2. Is it really 270 inches?

That's how it works. This is what I tried to replace mine with, but the set screw hole leaks. I was frustrated, so I took it to my mechanic, who put in a proper freeze plug for $30.

Is this going to work for the 1 as well? Is it possible to plug a 25-inch hole with a 25-inch freeze ?

Cummins 4 was fitted with this plug. 9 diesel. Leaks necessitated the replacement of new seals. I can't recall the size.

What is the torque rating for these?

I couldn't find any specifications, but they're two o ring seals, so they're easy to tighten.

Installing it was a breeze. After that, it's a piece of cake to move the heat exchanger on an auto 12v.

I got this in and put them on only to have one of them leak badly from the bolt, and when I removed it, I discovered a metal sliver in there that had cut the oring. They appear to be in good working order after being replaced and cleaned out. After the motor warmed up, it started to leak, so I had to replace it and TIGHTEN IT UP AGAIN. I'd definitely look at the stock before making a purchase.
