For my 97' 350-cubic-inch Chevy small block, everything fits perfectly and is of excellent quality. v8.
If the engine is being freshened up, it's a good idea to change the freeze plugs. Because these are brass, they will not rust like steel ones. The complete set for the SBC 350 is included in the kit. The oil galley and the rear camshaft plug are also included. Once the engine is back in the car, replace all of them to ensure there are no coolant leaks. Finish with an application of Indian head gasket shellac and installation, and you're done.
It also sounds good. This is my first engine build, and I'm glad I chose these. They look fantastic and have a high quality feel to them. The brass casting plugs have a bell-like sound to them. Use a small amount of gasket shallac on the casting/freeze plugs. I used Indian Head by Permatex and it appears to have worked well. The rest of the pipe-thread plugs are of good quality.
All plugs for all sbc model years are included in the complete kit.
The eight main plugs are 1 5/8" in diameter rather than 1". 5", as per q A simple backside photo would reveal the size!.
For an oil galley, push plugs are too big. Stamped at a half-inch interval. Od is . It's impossible to drive in the 520 because it's too thick.
Engine components that are excellent. The quality is excellent, and the fit is excellent.
It is well-made. It's a good fit and a good price.
