I have no leak issues after installing this replacement thermostat housing. It is much better than the factory piece and was a perfect fit on my 2001 Dodge Ram with a The V8 is a 2l unit. As a result of leaking in my original thermostat housing, I have replaced it and its A few days later, the new gasket had already blown out again, causing it to leak (this is a common problem with When I compare the Dorman with the factory piece, I found the lip that sits on the gasket on the Dorman is considerably higher. Therefore, the Dorman seals much better and won't fail as often. Since I have had it on for almost a week, no issues have come up. I highly recommend it!.
Apparently the face plate which mounts to the engine for the thermostat housing is too thin, and the bolts bottom out, leaving about a 1/16" gap. This can be overcome by using flat washers under each bolt, along with gasket sealer, followed by the paper gasket.
There was much greater flexibility in choosing how it fit in my zj 98 uses 318 engine I'm sorry for the poor quality, but I found it to be much more economical, I took a better gasket for a better seal and screwed the screws in.
In accordance with the advertisement. I tested it on a 99 Dakota 318 and it worked perfectly.
Constructed with clean lines and smooth transitions. Appearance is that the piece is continuous. In comparison to the $9 standard model at a big auto parts store, this is a much better product. This brand could have been ordered from the auto parts store, but the price on Amazon was so reasonable that I chose to take advantage of it. Now that I have both in my hands, I agree that I would have paid more for Dorman quality. In any case, we are not talking about that much money. There is a lot of quality build in this Dorman that I wish was better exhibited. You can see the difference in a picture I will post. Normally, Dorman appears on the right in pictures like this.
Powered by a 5 cylinder, it fit my 98 Ram 1500. An engine with a 9 cylinder.
All the parts came in the package the seal was separate, and it worked great.
