Questions & Answers

How is this cooler different from a regular cooler? What does it mean to have "low pressure drop"?

Although I am not absolutely sure, I believe the term refers to the difference in pressure going into and out of a Mechanics operate the mechanical spool valves in the valve body by using certain line pressure, so a large pressure drop will cause the transmission to shift incorrectly. Since I have a modified performance transmission in my 1500 GMC pickup and in the summer the temperature gets up to 120 degrees here, I used this cooler. There is no doubt that it is There are a lot of performance guys who run this cooler in GMC and Chevy cars. There is no doubt that I would

A Ford F250 power stroke diesel 6 cylinder 2009 model would benefit from this installation. The 4th lesson. Is it possible to use this with large tubing? Do you have any recommendations if not?

On a 2003 Ford F350 7, I installed this. I have a 3L bottle and it fits perfectly and keeps my car quite On my 2003, I installed any size brass fitting I needed to match the hose size. The installation was very quick and easy. After placing it behind my grill in front of all of my other coolants, condensers, and radiators, I moved it to where it could be seen. Regardless of your needs, the tubing will meet them. There is no better aftermarket cooler on the market, in my opinion.

How many dimensions does it have?

On my 2001 chevy silverado 5, I put this part. I am not sure of the dimensions and I don't know about the size. My toy hauler, which has a dry weight of 6300 pounds, was towed from California to New Mexico, passed through the Grand Canyon, and climbed about 8,000 feet with no problem, so I would say it is working perfectly.

How do I know whether it will fit on my Escalade 2002 6? If not, what is 0?

You must use brackets to install one on a 2002 Escalade and you may have to move the temperature sensor a bit to fit one. It's not easy for a novice to do, but you can do it.

It is best to have a cooler that retains quick connections for 4L60e
5/5

A fully built 4L60e was installed recently by Tru-Tech The 4L60 transmission is built by Tech Transmissions in Alabama (one of the nation's leading manufacturers). Compared to the factory cooler, I wanted something that was larger, but at the same time, I wanted to retain the factory quick connect fittings and not run any My search for the metal brackets for 99 and up Silverados led me to the following company Paypal Tim@eadperformance. For brackets, the shipping is included in the $65 price. Once these parts are ordered, you only need to order the GM quick connect fittings (2) part number 19130039, and the Anderson metals 50062 compression tube fitting (3/8) from Anderson Metals. You can then watch this YouTube video for installation of an aftermarket GM transmission cooler from 1999 to 2005.

There is no match between the description and the product
3/5

A description that does not correspond to the product purchased. In this case, you will receive the LPD47391 instead of the LPD47391 they describe. A bypass is built into the 4739, whereas a bypass is not built into the 47391. There is no difference between the 4739 and the 47391, so a difference is that the 47391 is being sold. Only when you see the box and the label will you know what the difference between them is.

Installation is quick and easy
5/5

On my 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 6L80E transmission, I installed this transmission cooler. Getting it up and running was fairly easy. It comes with a set of universal brackets, hose, a handful of fittings, and four clamps that can be bent so they work with whatever you have. Overall, this kit is quite nice. Ideally, the outlet/inlet of the cooler should be on the right side. Installing the cooler upside down will result in the fluid remaining at the bottom and perhaps not using the entire capacity of the I installed it for a variety of reasons.
Could you please clarify that I had my torque converter fail and metal went everywhere including throughout my transmission and In order to remove any metal from the coolers you have to hot flush them for so long even then you are not assured that you will remove it all. In the shop, they claimed that they did this, however by the time you got to town, the temperature climbed to 190 to 200 degrees. It turned out that the factory cooler was clogged, restricting the flow of fluid, so the fluid wasn't able to cool down. In the event that I failed again, I was headed for another failure. In addition, I decided to install 6an fittings on the cooler in addition to new lines. A - has been installed as well I was able to bypass the 190° thermostat by using an adapter plate for the cooler line. Those who live in colder climates may not want to try this (I live in South Mississippi). It took me the same amount of time to drive the truck into town as it did to return. It did not get hotter than 120 degrees. I plan on driving 800 miles nonstop in a week, so that will give me an idea of how it will perform. In combination with the factory cooler, it is definitely a recommended modification if your car is towing or you are running a stall converter.

A 50 degree drop in temperature
5/5

This cooler is ideal for a GM 900
Meanwhile, I tagged the front of mine black to blend in with the brackets since It was a 2011 Sierra. Holded the top brackets of the latch bracket brace with two holes drilled in the latch bracket I only modified the truck in a 'Permanent' way. I then used two bolts and formed some sleeves out of tubing so they would stick out a 1/4 inch forward. This allows it not to rub against the cross bar and prevents any Rather than using the doorman's fitting, the inlets should be connected with the ac delco 19130039 push connect fitting instead.

Performer Silverado was born in 2001
5/5

In both performance silverado forums, I have seen this trans cooler recommended over and over. I completely rebuilt my transmission on my 2001 silverado, including installing a 3200 stall torque converter, and added this cooler to keep temperatures It took me about an hour to install and there was everything I needed in the kit. There are many pictures showing people installing the cooler with the ports down, but this design is meant to have the ports up, otherwise you will be trapping air inside the cooler and not filling it properly, preventing it from performing at maximum capacity. Self bleeding is NOT what is happening here. I would definitely recommend it.

Trans coolers should only be purchased from this company
5/5

The Silverado from 2010. I barely broke 160 in the Texas heat before I did this, after I was flirting with 200+ trans temps before I did this. Getting the GM quick connect to invert 5/8th adapters from Napa made the installation a breeze, once I cut and installed a 3/8 compression coupling I was able to move the right line and swivel the left. It appears that brackets provided by the supplier are Considering the $135 total cost, it's not bad insurance for a tuned truck's transmission!.

Part arrived quickly and was of good quality
5/5

It has a factory trans cooler and internal bypass valve integrated with the A/C condenser on my 06 Crown Vic interceptor. I had a trans failure, and since I had a bypass, I was unable to remove the damaged contaminants. Rather than having to recharge the A/C again with the replacement cooler/condenser I bypassed them all together, I chose the biggest cooler I could possibly find since I was bypassing the factory cooler completely. I was pleased with how quickly the unit arrived and how easily I was able to install it It is impossible for the trans to run hot with this huge cooler on it, even though I do not have a gauge for A NEW UPDATE! Now that I have had this cooler running for a while, I have a temp gauge to measure its performance. While I was driving the car in AZ and back to MI, and in the AZ mountains for a considerable period of time, I never came across temperatures above 170F, and though it wasn't that hot, I was pretty much wearing out the car. Anyone who wants to not have to worry about overheating their transmission will benefit from this cooler. I have attached the latest update to this post. As of now, I have transferred this to my Jeep GC, which had a four-block radiator system with a radiator tank only cooler. There are seven of them, and they run at about The maximum I have ever seen on it was 170 even when I was plowing through deep sand in a river bed and exploring rock crawling trails in Arizona. Several people have stated that it is not possible to mount this with the connections pointing downward, this is incorrect. The reasoning is that air will be trapped in the top of the box. mounted it down on the Ford, and I have it mounted now on the Jeep with no problem. In order to fill the cooler with fluid and purge any air out, I allowed the cooler to connect to the transmission lines and run the engine with the connections pointing down. The cooler will hang over the front bumper until the fluid in it is all used up. It can be mounted on any surface you want once it has been connected and filled, and no air will be in it. You can only get air in the trans if you draw air from the sump of the trans, and if this is the case, you'll probably have other problems as well. After using this cooler for 3 years, I still strongly recommend it.
