I found the split in the line and cut the lines with a lo profile pipe cutter within 12" of the T, then sanded them smooth. Before cutting the lines, I had a local shop evacuate the A/C system and perform a vacuum test before repressurizing it. Since then, the air conditioner has been blasting icy cold! This blocker has made me very happy. Thread locker was used on the threads, and PAG 46 refrigerant oil was used to lubricate the o-ring. To ensure a perfect fit, use rings. Torque wrenches were also used to ensure that the bolts were not overtightened. Getting the proper diameter fitting was the most difficult part. I suggest cutting the lines as close as possible to the T joint. According to what I've read, if you cut at the vehicle's base, the compressor oil will pool there and eventually burn out the compressor.
They're still sealed after two years, and my air conditioner works perfectly!.
Fit perfectly where we cut our lines and completely sealed the system, saving us a lot of money on an older vehicle.
Rather than replacing expensive piping on an old vehicle, I used 1/2" and 5/8" terminators to plug the lines leading to the back, where they exit the firewall Y. A new drier was installed, as well as two additional driers. Vacuumed (it held 30" for an hour), then recharged the system with 7 oz of Supercool PAG46 oil/dye. At the register, the temperature is still hovering around 40 degrees. This is a fantastic way to save both time and money.
It prevents you from using. It works and does what it says it will. On a Dodge Grand Caravan, this part disables the rear evaporator core, allowing the front AC to function.
) The only thing that this business requires is better marketing. Except for the mechanic who installed it, no other mechanic I know is aware of their existence. This resulted in a significant financial savings.
This is an excellent item.
It is not compatible with the Mercury Villager or Nissan Quest.
