Selected User Reviews For Dorman 800-671 A/C Line Splice Kit for 3/8 Line With No. 6 Hose
Don't give up on your leaking AC line; this is a great product that is simple to install once the length is determined. Simply ensure that your lines are spotless or you will experience a leak. Approximately 30" of 3/8 AC hose and genuine Oetiker crimp clamps are included. If you don't have an Oetiker crimp tool, it'll be a lot easier, but if you don't, the internet can help you out. br>The hose's length is advantageous in areas where multiple leaks are possible. Over(behind) the wheel well, for example. So, before cutting the hose to length, make sure there are no leaks in the area. br>Another thing to keep in mind: The ferrule and rubber seal are only intended for one-time use. However, with some careful shmaganery (I made that word up), you may be able to correct the problem by removing the piece of AC line with the ferrule attached and resizing it. Not ideal, but doable. br>My only criticism is that it is a little too expensive. But it's better than replacing the entire line or relying on shady compression fittings. br>After the installation, I took the car to the shop for an evac and recharge, and they did have to inspect it first. The product received a thumbs up from them.
I only had it installed for a day, but I already have cold air and no visible leaks. If necessary, I will update my review.
I was able to remove the damaged section of aluminum AC line and repair it with a splice. It was simple if you had enough room, and I had no problems traveling 1500 miles to Florida.
My boyfriend installed it, which saved me a lot of money. Weeks later, the air conditioning is still icy cold.
The shop estimated that replacing the AC tubing in my 2005 Suburban would cost $1500. This was the ideal solution.
Replaced a section of corroded 3/8" ac line and worked flawlessly.
It's a great product that's simple to set up. Thank you.
So far, it's held up and performed admirably. It's been nearly a month since I've seen you.
