This was used to join two low-pressure lines together. When vacuum testing, it performed admirably and remained - For 2 hours, set the pressure to 40 psi. When adding refrigerant according to the manufacturer's specifications while maintaining a low pressure of 37 psi, it works perfectly. The next day, however, it began to leak slowly due to its inability to withstand 110-volts. When the vehicle was turned off, the ambient pressure was on the low side of 140 psi (especially in the hot summers in the high desert). The splice popped off the next thing I knew, spewing refrigerant all over the place. Instead, I spliced the line with AN8 (rated at 1500psi and 500°F), which has worked flawlessly thus far.
There is a significant design flaw in this product. The rubber seal fails and leaks into the fitting's threads. Only the fitting nut's end is sealed with the crush sleeve. There was no positive crush at the center fitting, and there were leaks all the way through the threads. Design flaws, as well as a high price tag.
These were used by the mechanic to replace the heating and cooling lines on the vehicle. GMC Yukon with a cooling leak in the back - So far, the connections have held pressure without leaking, and the cooling has been maximized! The dealer used a tool for a different installation method that cost over $1200 just for the tool! If Amazon parts are delivered on time, they are less expensive!.
When the valve on the high side line started to leak, I had to use this to repair it. Because the test port would not loosen before the line was damaged, I removed it and replaced it with this splice, which works perfectly.
It worked perfectly, and it was a great way to fix a small leak in an ac line. When a car's manufacturer stops selling parts because it's over ten years old, you'll need to come up with other options. It's all over now.
Use a cutoff rotary saw or a commercial pipe cutter to cut off the excess pipe and use an emory cloth to smooth the edges. The high-pressure side of an automobile's air conditioning system is sealed.
Before you go out and purchase a new refrigerant line, give this a try. That is all there is to it. In my 2005 Ford F150, I had no trouble splicing my AC line. I honestly expected it to leak, but it's been running flawlessly for the past two months. This is fantastic. I was able to save a significant amount of money as a result of your assistance. Before you go out and buy a new line, give this a shot.
It didn't work for me; you'll need a lot of room; it's bigger than it looks in the pictures. It could have been a problem with my installation, as it is with most crimp type connections. Look for videos on these on YouTube. Aside from that, shipping was quick.
