It has been seven years since my last valve replacement, and it is my fourth time. I have never owned a piece of equipment that has been so unreliable. The manufacturer should make a brass valve so I will not have to keep replacing them. I am willing to pay more than $100 for it so I will not have to replace them constantly.
It did, as I recall. However, it went down again a week later. After returning to the parts store, the clerk told me that they no longer carry Thetford toilets because they are a waste of plastic (as he put it). My old one ended up in the dumpster, so I replaced it with a new one. We wish you all the best. It might be a good idea to order two or three of these, because you will definitely need
What happened to me also happened to you. Streamline your process in order to save yourself time and Toss the thing in the trash
The valve on my 34060 lite toilet has been replaced, and I have used it for two weeks without any There is no doubt that this toilet will work! This was a very clean and tight fit, and flushing was not a problem.

It was not necessary to remove the toilet to install the valve. Then 2 days later, it began leaking from the joint where the 2 halves meet. There is nothing that can be done to fix it since it was assembled It's just a poorly designed and poorly produced product. Although you have no other choice but to replace the toilet, I would advise you not to buy it. I've read reviews in which it took a few attempts to get a good part. Nevertheless, I'll keep checking it, expecting that it will leak again in the near future. It's a bad idea to use cheap plastic parts.
I replaced it with a new one and it leaking again within a week, so I returned it for another new one, and it immediately leaking. It was visible that the packing gasket was deformed and squeezed out of the valve body. It's a shame I can't buy another one, but the leak is beginning to ruin my sub-woofer As I said, I do not have any other choice than to use this design, but it's awful. If there were an alternative or third-party manufacturer who provided a better product, I would certainly be willing to try it. I've applied silicone to every seam, and somehow the water still seeps through. Their toilet is great, but this design is terrible and they should feel ashamed of it. It even says in every forum that this is a common valve to be replaced It is a product you should plan on replacing every year. There is no way that can be right.
A replacement valve was needed for the valve in our RV toilet that started to leak after water had frozen inside the valve at some point in time. In the RV, we spend the whole year A certain temperature must have been reached at some point and the valve started to freeze. Specifically, I observed striations (white flecks) in the nylon of the valve housing, indicating the plastic had been overextended. Specifically, the valve housing assembly flange containing the shaft bearing and seal was loosen by removing the thermally deformed stakes that held it in place. When the valve was actuated, it would leak. Replacing the original valve with this one was seamless. As far as I can tell, things are going well. It does not leak anymore. In most cases, the toilet is backed up against a wall and the valve has to be removed in order to reach it. The kit comes with a new closet flange seal, which can be very handy since most installations require lifting the toilet in order to reach I have updated my post for the 13th of February A POS valve like this is a waste of money. A leak is now visible at the shaft seal. In the absence of pink material in the lines, this valve was not exposed to freezing temperatures. Let's face it, Thetford Dog Gammit, you make an awesome toilet, but you put a cheap valve on top. No matter what the price, it's going to be a royal pain in the rear to replace it when it quits. Make it out of brass or bronze so it will last! There are classic cases of false economy in this case. Put the bean counting accountants on their heels and make a good valve out of a jackhammer. In an ideal world, I would gladly pay more for a high quality product. The problem with this valve is the lack of bearing surface on the rotating shaft where the side loads are applied The surface area of this device is very small, placing a great deal of load on it. In either case, the bearing needs to be at least twice the length that it is now or the valve shaft should be larger in diameter. It is a total waste of money. **24th October 2020 Update **26th October 2020 Update There's another leak this time. Toilets at Thetford make me sick to my stomach. Getting a Dometic now seems like a good idea.
As a general rule, these components cost a reasonable amount. Having to exchange RV toilet parts when they leak is the second time I have done so. They are cheap plastic. if they were made of brass or similar materials to sink fixtures, they would last longer and would never need to be replaced. In any case, I got my leak fixed with this kit. Installing it wasn't difficult. Since I've only been using it for a few days now, I'm not sure how long it will last but so far it seems to be doing well. The following is the most recent update as of Another year has gone by and it looks like I will have to replace this part once It's a complete and utter waste of time. It would seem reasonable that they could design better quality parts for the price they are charging. Domiciliary toilets are probably the way to go if I replace my whole toilet.
After 1 year, I broke It is recommended that you use the product twice a week. A defective valve on our current Thetford RV toilet required this part to be replaced. Our installation went well after we received it (it was a week or so after we received it). However, it will be within 1 With normal use, the plastic holding it together broke apart after 2 weeks. Using their online submission form, I contacted Thetford directly about their return policy since I didn't know if they truly would accept returns The following week I realized I had never heard from them (and of course, you never get an email confirmation when you submit the form). It now looks like my return window has closed as well (by one day at least). It seems the company can't even make their own spare parts to fix their own products. That is a bad feeling. perhaps they intend for that to happen- Our current systems will have to be replaced instead of repaired, in order to force us all to buy new products. I certainly don't want to do business with Thetford ever again after that. I feel as though they will not respond to product support inquiries in a timely fashion in order to get lost in our return window. In my RV I will probably look for a new product to install. There is one that does not have Thetford in it.
UPDATE Upon not receiving a reply to my initial email inquiry, I called Thetford directly. My complaint was promptly resolved and a replacement part was sent to me free of Nevertheless, this was subject to the caveat that they were currently out of stock and it would take 4 weeks to get a new shipment There is a six-week shipping timeframe. In late March, I finally received my part. May 11 was the latest I was able to install. Things seemed to be going well, until it broke on 6 p. m. The 21st century I've only been using it for a little over 3 weeks The second time took almost twice as long as the first). I am sure you can appreciate that part broke in the EXACT same place as the previously ordered part. Looks like Thetford needs to revisit its design and manufacturing QC procedures. To ship a replacement part that does its job over and over again must be more expensive than to manufacture one that doesn't again. Additionally, you cannot ignore all the unhappy customers (there are a lot of reviews about We won't be ordering from Thetford again (now or in the future), and we will be searching for another toilet solution for our.
