In what range should the ohmmeter be set?

On an EZGO 36V solenoid, I used one of these. When measuring the voltage across the point where the solenoid connects to it, I see a 3 volt drop, so I compute 69 ohms of resistance. note, you should see between and In case your existing battery is working properly, it should be 1 to 3V less than the voltage of your existing battery.

Why would you need a resistor like this? Does the 36V txt have one on the solenoid? If not, can you help me?

Does it need to be installed in a specific way? There is usually a circle around one end of stock ones to indicate which way to install them. ?

Generally, resistors can go in any direction, such as right or left. There are two of them on the large lugs of the solenoid, where the battery cable connects. A diode doesn't have a band on one side that indicates the cathode side. The diode is installed on the small terminals of the solenoid, with the band side connected to the positive post.
