Questions & Answers
It's under the dash on the passenger side of a Chevrolet Colorado.
It's very likely that your actual blower fan is failing if you're installing this piece. You should most likely replace your blower fan as well. The air intake assembly that covers those parts must be removed prior to installation. Because the original weather pack plugs can go bad (corrosion, etc.) you'll have to splice in the new one. The other part goes into the housing of the blower fan. This part was originally replaced at a mechanic shop, only for it to fail. I replaced it myself after it failed, along with a new blower motor. I read somewhere that when a fan's motor fails, the resistor fails as well. I hope this has been of assistance.

There were no blower speeds on my 2003 Astro. All of the fuses had been tested and were found to be in good working order. The radiator overflow and windshield washer reservoirs were both removed. br>There are two hex head screws on the blower resistor. I took them out and discovered that the relay's third from the left pin (pin C) was melted. The connector as well as the relay were both burned out. Both a connector and a relay are included in this item. The replacement relay was an "exact" match. The connector was actually more heavy duty than the original, wire gauge is heavier on all six leads, and no cutting, modifing, or cursing as other products seemed to have done. Butt connectors (size 12 ga, yellow) are required. After crimping, do a tug test on each one. This is an excellent item.
It'll work, but don't give it to a dealership to use. They informed me that it was not the correct part number and that they would not be able to use it. They replaced it with their own - charged twice as much as it costs - It was identical to this, except that their wires were color-coded. br>I believe the tech didn't want to spend the extra few minutes figuring out which wire went where because they were all grey, so he just said "wrong part. " Thankfully, I had a friend who could put it to good use. They were having the same issue as me, with the fan only working on certain settings.
It was necessary to make some adjustments for fit, but that was no problem! When compared to eBay and local retail parts suppliers, this is a fantastic deal! A new harness and a blower fan were also purchased. Everything is brand new and costs around $60. Vacuum lines for the duct and max air were also replaced.
Chevrolet Astro, model year 2003 With my fingers, I broke off three or four plastic tabs. It's that simple. Following that, everything fell into place perfectly. The problem with the fan blowing on high was quickly resolved.
However, the part in question is correct. My blower motor was bad, so I fixed the heat blowing right away, but it died after a week. br>br>YOU MUST CUT A HOLE BIG ENOUGH FOR THE NEW RESISTOR MODEL! br>PLEASE DO NOT BUY UNTIL YOU ARE CERTAIN THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO DO SO, AS THE NEW MODEL WILL NOT FIT.
In my Astro van, I installed it. The fit was excellent, and the price was reasonable.
It immediately began to work. I had been getting used ones that didn't last, and it was so cold outside that I didn't bother to splice in the new one.
