Questions & Answers

Would this fan be appropriate to replace the condenser motor fan on my ge model gts16gshbrss?

Thank you for reaching out GE's parts breakdown for your model refrigerator does not indicate this was the correct part for your Using this part for your model is not recommended. I appreciate you getting in touch with me. V.A. @ GEA

Do you think it would work for refrigerator ?

My knowledge of the subject is limited. It would be best to either look up the part number on your existing condenser motor (which is what I did), or find a manual for your fridge online and look up the part number In my case, it was a simple swap out to replace an old motor that sounded like an animal moaning.

This can be used in model tbt14sabrrww, right?

It looked like it would fit when I cross referenced it. It looks like they are the same. Purchasing Prime provides you the option to return it at any time.

Although everything said that it was the perfect fit for my fridge, I still had to adjust the plug to make it My refrigerator model is listed incorrectly on several sites after I spent an hour researching this and when I put that model in at the top of the page after ordering, it says yes, it is the correct one for my refrigerator
3/5

For safety's sake, I ordered white fan bushings and white fan (white) as well. As of the next day, everything arrived except for the bushing that have not yet arrived. To ensure that I would not run into any surprises, I watched several videos on youtube. This seems easy enough to do, and I've fixed lots of things before and have a variety of tools to do it. It takes just a few minutes to empty my freezer and go. After I got to this motor, it was obvious that it was different from the one I had used before. The one with the plastic cover was it. okay, just because things change doesn't mean the information will no longer be valid and this one appears to be more effective. As I continue, I encounter difficulty getting the prongs off the fan blades since there is no instruction anywhere that tells me there's a clip that keeps them in place. Getting the clip off was tough twisting and pulling in the hopes of not breaking the fan was a struggle. I also checked, and yes, the fan I received was too big (the wrong one) so I might lose some food if I broke it. I took everything apart, put it back together, and yeah, this guy is a little bit thicker than the other one, so when I put it in the bracket with the old bushings, it slightly bent the bracket, but not enough to say that it can't be used. Once I fit it back together, I began putting everything together again. I plug it in and it all appears to be fine. I have a male and a female plug. My eyes focused on the old one and realized it had a male connector on the motor side. I quickly reviewed the power settings and realized it was 115V 60Hz on both. I immediately went to the garage to grab my wire cutters to switch It is not something I would recommend to anyone as you can cause a fire hazard if the wires aren't connected correctly. Now that I am back in business, I put everything back together, fill up the freezer, plug everything in, and it works. It has been about 6 months since this fridge was as quiet as this. Three stars, as this will do the trick, but I would advise you to disassemble your fridge for a quick inspection as well.

Replacement Motor for GE Refrigerator At A Fraction Of The Cost
5/5

This Genuine OEM replacement motor for my GE refrigerator is less than half the cost of obtaining the same part through a regular source. Easy to install and quick to set up As with the old motor, it plugs directly into the existing wiring. You do not need to pay a repairman over $150 to do this simple job - you can do it yourself The old motor needs to be taken out and replaced with this new one after removing two screws. From start to finish, it took me less than 20 minutes.

You should be careful if you are using it with a Hotpoint refrigerator
3/5

Part number for this condenser was identical to the old part number from the original 2005 Hotpoint fridge that had been faulty. In this case, I had to splice the wires to make the condenser motor wired to the plug correctly since the motor was wired to the plug backwards. It appears that the specs were not followed in manufacturing, as I am certain GE contracted out to another company. We are thankful that my husband is an electronic whiz and noticed what was going on. I think it worked, but what a challenge to figure out how to make it It was a great experience with Amazon as always, with Amazon Prime delivery that is awesome!.

Getting your order out as soon as possible! Our refrigerator was saved from being replaced by a $700 one after my husband installed the part in about 30 minutes! Our fan was taken care of quickly so we didn't need to continue to use it for a couple

This is merely due to the connector being different
3/5

It turned out that I ordered the wrong one, but I had to fix the dead one in You will find it UNDER the refrigerator. As much as I could tell, the old connector is simply different, so I cut and plugged it into the new one. So far, it seems to be working well. Despite buying the correct one, I have yet to swap it out because it is working now.

If you are not sure what ends your motor has, verify them
3/5

Fortunately, the motor was exactly what I needed, but the connector end of the motor was exactly the same as the fridge side harness. This meant I had two male ends instead of one male and one female to connect. To connect the new motor wires, I simply cut off the plug end of the old motor and crimped it onto the new.
