It comes with a color coded LED light that shows the fluid level. I like this one because it works with different kinds of brake fluid, DOT 3, DOT 4, and so on. I was not sure if all would do it, but this one offered that information. My two vehicles have been fitted with it so far and it works perfectly! In one of my cars, the fluid had to be changed, which probably saved me a great deal of money, since the fluid is known to retain water and deteriorate your brake lines and parts over time. As far as our tester goes, it does seem high-quality and like the sort of thing an actual mechanic would use all the time.

It seems to work fine. The 4% indicator instantly illuminated and showed red. After that, I tested my brake fluid in my 2016 Nissan Rogue and it showed As much as I could squeeze into a small cup, I squirted it using a baster. The tester still displayed 1% after adding a few drops of water with a thin syringe. The solution went from 2% to 4% after an additional small amount of water. There was a great deal of consistency between the readings. My tester is accurate, and I am pleased with its performance. I was not surprised that my 51,000 mile vehicle had been driven gently in the arid U. S. In Southwest, only 1% of the population was tested. I don't think that's true for desert vehicles. That's why I bought this tester after a Nissan dealer tried to sell me a brake fluid change and other services. Most shops and dealers can only be trusted to try to get as much money from us as possible. I'll wait until next year to test again. My brake fluid is still very gold in color and my brakes work perfectly, so I don't think I'll need to change it. It will be changed by me when it makes sense.

It worked the few times I used it. I had another one I loaned out and it never came back, so I ordered this one to replace it. There was a slight difference in design, but it worked well enough for the three vehicles I tried. My garage tester drawer was in pieces when I opened it today, so I went out and dealt with it. The answer is yes. As soon as it arose, it broke. It is probably because they use springs to contact the test pins, so the spring pressure was strong enough to overcome the sheer strength of the thin plastic (there's an indentation made in the plastic body to snap the cap However, there is a problem. The plastic in that area is extremely thin and probably made of In other words. As a result, it broke. The problem with this tester is quite common, as I have seen in other reviews. I would not have expected this to happen, but I have looked at other reviews. If you're looking for something not Chinese, try this It continues to be made in China, or at least of higher quality than previously.

This is a tool I have used once and kept in My mouth was bleeding the next day, when I saw the tip had popped off, and the plastic had completely worn away. I had not touched it in any way. There is literally nothing more to say about this Please do not throw away this product. Responses to a message from the seller were given within a day and a refund or replacement was offered. I am bumping up the score to 2 stars for good customer service, but this product is defective.

I highly recommend it. I am very pleased with this product. The method worked with new brake fluid as well as with a cup of water to see if it actually worked. Many customers have reported problems with the plastic around the probes breaking over time. I recommend that you always clean the test pen with denatured alcohol after use to remove any traces of brake fluid that may be left behind. If you do that, you should be able to prolong the life of this instrument.

It is not very costly to test your brake fluid and to purchase new calipers, so you may as well keep this on your maintenance list.

This reading got me to 1% right away, which is very helpful, as it tells me that the brake fluid is fine. Measures voltage, which is correlated to volume of water in a container. Not difficult at all.
