My unit gave the same reading on DOT3 fluid that had been in storage for 5 years, as well as on two newly purchased bottles of DOT3. The seals were intact on both bottles. It has a moisture content of 5%. As a result, I did not take a chance on getting a replacement I simply returned the item.
