As I looked at the pad in its package, I thought it would be too small, but it was precisely the right size. I believe that the original pad looks equally as good. In the other reviews, the pad was suggested to be soaked in hot water or to be used with lubricants, but I was able to use this right out of the packaging without any special preparation. You should start at the bottom and move on to the top corner, then go It took about 5 minutes for me to put it on, though I had to use a little muscle. I think this is an awesome product for the price!.
Despite the fact that this pedal cover ended up being a perfect fit for my 2001 4cyl Accord LX, getting it on was a real chore. To ensure that this would not occur, I placed Vaseline on the inside of the pad, in order to help it adhere to the metal pedal portion. I did not warm mine (though it is 80-degrees outside. At this time of year, we have 90 degrees outside), but it slipped on easiest when you put the bottom corners on first and then lifted the top corners off.
Using a heat source for the replacement pad was an excellent idea. Upon replacing the old one, the old one came off easily and this one fitted perfectly. On one side of the cage, the rubber lip had to be stretched and unfolded in order to fit. Once on, it worked perfectly. If you need to replace the pad, do not hesitate. There is a good feel to it, and my foot doesn't slide off the brake as much. The effort and cost were well worth it.
