Because of this, I'm not sure how OEM springs were. I believe they were installed backwards at some point and were worn out by the rotor. off. Anyway, these appear to fit well, though the length between the spring end and the bend around the pin is a little too long. This causes them to rub against the caliper housing, causing them to "bind" and not fully return the pad to its original position. br>I think they'll be fine in practice; on the bench, they were a little strange. Regardless, they are far superior to the anti-rattle springs I previously used.
I used one of these brake pad retainer wire clips, casting S13WE, on each side of my old rusted front brake calipers. They were a good fit on the pins, matched the old retainer wires, and provided enough resistance to keep my brake pads from seizing onto the rotors as listed. In the top and bottom sections of my 2000 Tundra's pads, I now have two retainer wires in each caliper. With these Carlson retainer clips, fresh Dot 3 brake fluid, and Permatex Silicon Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant applied to the two brake pad mounting pins, the back of the pads, shims, inside the piston bores, and around the outside of the pistons, my old rusted and seized front brakes are working properly once again. Micro-stainless steel After soaking the stuck dual pistons sideways in PB Blaster sprayed along the pistons' edges into the bores for about a week on each side, I used a C-clamp to remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and restore the pistons, bores, and caliper surfaces with files and fine grit polishing sandpaper. To depress the pistons, use a cinch and a Lang Tools brake caliper press. The C- To get a wide enough gap between the pistons to fit the Lang Tools caliper press in place for ratcheting them into the bores, you'll need a clamp or a pry bar. I had a pair of pistons eject from the bores when I applied the brake pedal without brake pads at one point, and it took two to three times each because they were still seizing in the outward position after being pushed inward. As the brake fluid dripped out into a can, clearing out the sediment that had been clogging the brake line and piston valves, I was able to sand the tarnishes on the pistons with polishing paper. My front wheels spun freely again when the truck was lifted after reinstalling the shims and pads with these Carlson clips, and the brakes now work properly. My store is a C- Because of the pressure on the second caliper, the clamp cracked in the corner, but it can be glued or replaced.
Spring that appears to be well-made. They're a lot more durable than the ones that came with my truck. It is necessary to ensure that the pads are evenly worn. Each caliper on my Tundra had only one spring. The outer pads wore out much faster than the ones on the inside. As a result, each caliper received two springs.
On my 88 Toyota pickup, I was able to get rid of the annoying brake rattle.
They are successful.
Arrived in perfect condition and on time.
Exactly what I wanted.
