Questions & Answers
This should fit 2011 and newer models, according to what I understand
This gear opens and closes the door for the cool and the hot when it is damaged, and stays in the cold or the hot
It's not clear to me. For my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I purchased one of these.
The answer is I don't know. The gear is no more than a small plastic bag in which it is enclosed. Islands are amazing places to live, who would have thought?

The part looks a bit different than the factory part, but it is easy to swap on and off. This issue with the blend door has been fixed. Also, if you're replacing the actuator, you might as well replace that as well. The new one isn't much more than the old one and you have to take the old one off anyway to reach this part. My actuator is defective, and I suspect that the gear in the factory gear box has cracked. Now that I have switched them out, it is not an issue. It might also be a good idea to get a low-rise ratcheting screwdriver The inner star screw on the actuator is so easy to get to with this.
In the driver's seat- Only heat was being blown from the right side of our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The main reasons I curse Jeep are 1) they make an integral part of the HVAC system out of plastic and 2) they make another integral part of the HVAC system nearly impossible to reach. key word. It took a while, but with the shortened #20 torx, we were able to remove the actuator and reattach it (the broken pieces had fallen I hear that it's much easier to drive on the passenger side. Hopefully, I won't have to learn that lesson as I go. Youtube has plenty of videos that can be helpful.
You should order two like I did to make sure you have a perfect fix. It's better to be safe than sorry. It took me about 2 cycles for the alignment to become right. I then heard a slight "tick" after each rotation after the installation. It was taken apart again and the actuator had caused a small crack to appear in the material of the new gear. Just put on the second one and it is silent and aligned.
It was not difficult to accomplish this. It is true that the driver side of my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stuck on heat and the passenger side was either cold or hot as I desired installing this actuator on the passenger side fixed the issue. I had to remove the old one because it was broken. With this new system, I can turn on or off my heat and air conditioning whenever.
This is junk. It was immediately broken. There is garbage. It seems to be a knock-off of a Mopar so it's being sold as a Mopar. The two-day period lasted. All three of the ones we purchased have broken. I suspect these are old stock or counterfeit, so please do not purchase them.
One of the pieces of this piece broke on the passenger side air conditioner and it caused it to stop working. The new one was installed within one hour, resulting in a cold air conditioner again!.
Using this system saved us money to the tune of thousands. In addition to replacing the actuator, the dealer is charging $700 for this.
These are used in my Jeep grand Cherokee 2014 summit edition 6 cylinders engine. They fit well and are good quality.
