Questions & Answers
Honestly, I do not know what the answer is. This product was purchased for a 1999 Chevy Lumina and it worked just fine. It was also necessary to order the push button for the inside connection from GM. I had to try two times before I got it right. As the car had the cutout for the button, it was simple to install since the hole was shaped to fit the button.
I installed it on my 1999 Lumina without a problem. Even though Chevy already had the wiring in place, this option was available. In order to install new, you need the button that goes on the dash. Chevrolet dealers were the only ones who could provide it to me. I installed it easily, but it wasn't difficult.
Neither it nor my 2002 Impala seem to fit
The stereo worked with my 96 Lincoln Towncar, and it worked in the majority of American cars made in the 1990s. However, this is not a trunk lift, this is a trunk lid opener. By using this, you can remotely open the trunk.

It was no longer possible to use the trunk release latch. We are not certain if the item was defective during manufacturing. This is too funny to think it was broken just by opening the trunk lid and closing it. 1998 to 2016 were the years of the war. My old trunk release still functioned, but it was designed to last for about a year, so I do not want to get a new one due to a defective part or one that is not intended to last. The electrical part of the old trunk release was still functioning. Currently, the new release seems to perform as expected, and I am very pleased with it.
Axial actuators are identified by different part numbers. I like it very much. The part numbers for actuators that work for coupes and convertibles differ, but THIS actuator will function fine in all models. This newer version/part number actually has increased structural support via the bigger 45 degree plastic molded piece that extends from one end to another of the actuator. This would have been impossible to do if it were the older version/part number. This is really great! I can't explain it properly, but it's really cool! Despite its smaller size, the 45degree plastic molded piece does not provide as much support, and the entire actuator begins to separate, which is why it is unable I ended up buying this actuator after my original fell apart. That is exactly what I experienced with the first.
It works great and is easy to fix, it does not have the trunk emergency release cable but can still be used with a flatblade screwdriver if you get locked in. It is also very reasonable in price.
The new one works just like the factory one, and my hatch no longer has a problem closing.
Originally, the lift was made of wood, but we had it replaced with hydraulics On my 1998 Camaro, it was a snap to install the back release.
Perfect match and easy to install.
This is a direct replacement that has been manufactured. I installed this on my parents' Monte Carlo oh, as it is a direct replacement for Installation is as simple as plugging it in. Everything went according to plan.
