Questions & Answers

In order to replace an existing Demco DA66 actuator, I need to buy a new one. What is the difference between the two models? It would be convenient if the old one could be unbolted and the new one bolted in?

Please forgive me, Shane, for I am not sure of the exact dimensions, but I believe it is three inches from center to center on each bolt. I cannot tell you whether it is 03 or 00. It should be a drop-in replacement and should attach straight away. In case yours is different, you could There is something wrong with the center to center measurement, which refers to the two bolts used to connect it to your trailer. You know that most trailer actuators have the same distance between the Here is what I hope will help!

Does doing anything special while reversing require any special precautions?

When you reverse uphill, such as up your driveway or whatever, you can either pin your coupler immobilized (as others have mentioned) or you can install a solenoid that will disengage the brakes when you turn on your reverse lights.

I'm looking for a replacement for a DICO Titan/model 60. Will this product work, even if some minor differences exist between the two?

In other words, it will replace the existing one. My dico 60 is in great shape, so I immediately replaced it with this one.

Would you mind telling me what the ball size is, please?

Those instructions are for a 2" ball, not a 3".

The product works without any problems, but it requires two Replaced the brake actuator on the 1986 easyloader trailer with this unit and it works well

A maximum weight of 4000 lbs is allowed. There was a leak in the Atwood actuator due to rust. I had to purchase this part because Atwood doesn't make it. In order to bolt it on the trailer, I had to get longer bolts. It will connect to the brake line if the brake line is set up correctly. Tightening the brake fitting will lead to brake problems. Until the reservoir fell 1/2 inch below the tank's top, fill it with water. It was time to push the actuator in. You can easily do this by removing the plastic cover on top of By pressing the piston rod in, holding it in place, and then tightening the brake line fitting, you accomplish this. The piston should be retracted as the fitting is tight. You will see air bubbles as you loosen the fitting and push the piston. Then hold the piston in place, and tighten the fitting. You should repeat this a total of four times. As a result of the fitting being loosened with the piston pushed in, the actuator is filled with solid brake fluid with no air bubbles. If the actuator is far enough away from the brake cylinder, press the piston in and bleed the brake cylinder. Then there is the other closest to you. With the clear bleed hose in a glass container of brake fluid, put the hose in there. The hose end should be submerged in the fluid at all times so air does not get
This actuator will come on if backing up on a hill, so you will need to place a long bolt between the actuator and the piston so the piston will not move the actuator. It braked very smoothly, and it felt as if there was nothing tow behind it.

This is a good deal
5/5

This trailer is heavy duty and works well. There are no problems with it. As a result, I carry an extra 1/2 inch bolt that I can slip into the opening to back uphill with the trailer loaded. In the absence of that, the actuator compresses and applies the brakes when I do not It is a great value and really works when you need it to.

This is a trailer for a boat
5/5

Several years ago, I owned a 1996 four winns horizon 190, and it had an Atwood trailer tung coupler, but I had no idea how to repair it because Atwood had gone A single fitting was needed for the break line to work and the bracket did not need to be adjusted to fit. The saving of this saved me from a lot of trouble. I was asked to spend $1200 on a local shop upgrade.

I highly recommend it as a Installed an Atwood in my trailer in place of the old one

After reading the manual online, we were able to bleed the system and it was very easy to do so with the emergency lever. It also has a nice shock absorber that helps take away a lot of the noise.

The retrofit should be bolted on
5/5

I had to remove two bolts in order to install this bolt on retrofit to my 12LSO pop up camper, which would have been an easy bolt on replacement. In order to install the new hitch, I had to cut out the mounting plates and fabricate two new ones, weld them in place, and then bolt them on! I love how it turned out!.

Ensure the brake fluid reservoir gasket is in good condition
3/5

There was a problem installing the gasket. My opinion is that the replacement worked well, since the gasket was installed correctly. Couplers like this seem to have excellent performance. A Boat EZloader trailer was used to install it.
